check out my MLB here at around frame 30... gets stuck behind an invisible wall? A TFL turns into a 10 yard gain

a few plays later... a VERY similar situation... LOLB playing man-to-man in a base D spazzes out around frame 10

and again

I can tell you these are all 100% build things. Ours and yours.

1. Hes not good enough with his mental skills to make the tackle.

2. HE was engaged, remember the images we see aren't law. I think "joes may be closer then they appear" applies here.

So d'ya reckon these are awareness/pursuit checks he's failing? Where do you think the correction may lie (it's not my tech, but I'd like to help the agent get it right)

(Apologies, thread-jacking, this probably belongs in FAQ)

if the guys were blitzing and had low blitz awareness I would understand...

of if my guys were slow or had low pursuit. They are quick (45+), fast (45+), and pursuit is pretty high for a LB (50+)

I don't see an attribute that would cause these guys to just spazz out like I showed, especially with the RB so far away and NOT making a juke move or something

That's a D League team that has played other CPU teams all season

Like I said our builds factor into what is going on there. I can give you a hint we have a ton of fat asses on the o-line.

that might be an effect on the first play (blocking area), but doesn't really explain why my LB is being a dumb@$$ in space and turning the wrong direction

if it was that 3 WR, outside counter toss play, it would make sense like my gys are getting faked out from distance, but the RB is going the same direction the whole time and my guys went the wrong way

What rush style are you using? I've seen evasive style cause some craziness that combo style doesn't. The way a player tries to avoid a blocker on evasive can be wonky at times.

well they LBs were in man coverage, so they weren't pass rushing, so that setting shouldn't have affected anything.

My LBs are on combo style

Basically, the game cheats in favor of the offense. Read Corndog again. Understand what he is saying.

The game would be boring if players didn't make plays. Defensive players don't count as players. They don't make plays. Only the offense matters. The defense just exists to make offensive players feel good about themselves.

My theory: They're not reading run until shortly after the pitch is in the HB's possession. The MLB is preparing to cover the HB, who stalls to catch the pitch, which causes the MLB to want to backtrack a step to match the sudden stall in the HB's "route". He then reads the run a few ticks after the pitch is in the HB's hands, and proceeds normally.

Same thing with the LOLB, except he's covering the TE perhaps, and that's why he appears to hitch up as he gets level with the TE that's blocking.

Yeah, the more I watch it, the more I'm certain the LBs swapping from cov tech to pursuit doesn't occur until after the HB actually takes possession of the ball on those delayed pitch animations.

interesting... so what you're saying is coverage tech (a pass d attribute) actually might help on toss plays?

weird
