Thats not how either works.. and PDs arent rare if you build for them.

There are even plays like this from a 4WR set that clearly seem to meet the situation for this to fire:

Does anyone have a link to a reply of it ever firing? I have been looking now for quite some time and I have yet to see even a single instance of this SA firing.

I have seen it fire. Couldn't give you a link though, so you'll just have to trust me.

It does not activate 100% of the time conditions precedent are met.

Ok so umm, is it just me or is it weird that it was almost like no one can be near the defender when it fires, not even the intended receiver.

Does anyone else have any additional links? As we can see and that previous replay the situation is not that hard to create as that was a fairly congested field near the intended target underneath.

Would love to see if it is perhaps counting the WR in the 4 yard halo check as well.

In Larssen's example, it looks like the TE is definitely within 4 yards, so while it wouldn't hurt to double check to make sure the halo is defenders only, I don't think that's why it's so rare.

The play I am thinking of, the CB was right on top of my WR when it fired, so the target is not tripping the halo. There were no other players around though, either offensive or defensive.

I think its rare because of 2 things. First, you have to be playing a team where they actually run plays where your guy will be in the right situation where it should fire. I don't think I've ever seen it for team thats spam 4/5WR hooks. Second, you have to win the roll that it will trigger. Not 100%, but it seems like you would only have 1 roll for it.

You see abilities like spin cycle fire a lot because the D-line has multiple opportunities, or RNG rolls, for it to trigger on every pass play.

thats just my thinking though

Well, that link clearly shows another defender much closer to the receiver than the woefully out of position CB.



I have it on my guy; two stars and 50 MCA. That should give it a 25% chance of activation. I have met the activation conditions at least 40 times this season alone. I have have seen it fire once.

Even if it fires, I do not feel that it offers any significant improvement to my player.

it's fired quite a few times for my CBs

deflecting/cov tech at 60ish, man cov aware at 50ish

Wow, so the thing about no other defenders is wrong. Perhaps the tooltip means no other DBs...
