Won, Ronin/Queen City should be a hell of a game.

So I got none of the match-ups I wanted, but we still got a couple interesting games.

1. #11 Carolina Pirates vs #1 Maine Snails - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/41/152

Carolina is a strange team in which they match-up extremely well vs some of the very best teams and get beat badly by others. They are the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of GLB2. Maine and Carolina has faced off twice this season with the most recent being a OT thriller in which Maine scored with a few minutes left to win. I'll have my Pirates jersey on for this one hoping I can steal that #1 spot back.

Prediction: Carolina 21-17

2. #6 Alpine vs #2 Doinitin Djibouti - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/156/34

This would probably have been the last match-up I would have chosen for DD to finish the season out as I feel we match-up very poorly against Alpine. We have played twice this season with both teams splitting the wins, the most recent being a Alpine blowout win back on Feb. 23 35-18.

Prediction: DD wins 24-21

3. #5 Queen City Brewmasters vs #3 Portland Ronin - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/26/87

Somehow these 2 teams have missed each other in the ladder all season so at least we'll get to see a game we haven't seen. Both teams like to run the ball with Ronin favoring the inside rushes and OT runs and the Brewmasters blasting away the back 7 on outside pitches. We should see well over 500 yards rushing in this game.

Prediction: Brewmasters win 31-28

4. #12 TT's Wolfpack of One vs #4 Sunday Funday - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/36/201

TT's has really struggled since the new Man Coverage changes have came out going 3-5-1 in the ladder, however they have an impressive 31-0 win over Erkner in their last game so maybe they have figured out something that works for them. SF on the other hand has went 7-2 since the changes. For TT's to have any shot they must get the ground game going, something that SF has struggled to stop at times. For SF they just need to jump out early because I don't think TT's has the offense to play catch-up or to win a shoot-out.

Prediction: SF wins 31-21

5. #16 Monmouth Evil Monkeys vs #7 Chicago Bruins - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/175/78

MEM has really struggled since cracking the top 10 a couple weeks ago, I'm assuming its from facing off against better competition. Chicago on the other hand has went 7-8 in the ladder losing most games to top 10 teams they have faced but they have maintained this high of a rank by going undefeated in League play.

Prediction: MEM wins 21-17

6. #10 Providence Radicals vs #8 OG GLB - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/75/285

This should be an extremely high scoring game with these 2 offenses. OG GLB is a team that struggled big time before Feb. 20 and has been on fire since going 7-2. Providence has had to fight it's way up the ladder and will be looking for its first top 10 win of the season.

Prediction: Providence wins a shootout 38-35

7. #19 Iowa Rogues vs #9 Seattle Seahawks - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/198/280

Seattle is another team that has stayed this high by a undefeated regular season league run, losing in the Championship game to TT's. They have struggled in the ladder, but do have the ability to beat anyone as you can see by their win over Ronin. Iowa has went 4-5 since Feb 20 and has not adjusted to the new man coverage very well. Unless they figure something out soon we may not see them in this top 10 for a while.

Prediction: Seahawks win 24-14

Since this is now "Ladder Breakdown" and not top ten specific I'm giving an honorable mention to:

#163 Portland Pinks vs #170 Rhode Island Aftershocks - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/337/357

5th ladder match between these teams this season. Rhode Island leads the series 3-1. I'm picking Rhode Island to handle business once again, even with the Pinks having the most recent win.

For the top 10:

Maine over Carolina: This is about matchups and I think this isn't a great one for Carolina. Maine takes this one and holds on to the top spot.

Alpine over DD: Blatent homer pick. I think we match up well against DD in general, but that doesn't even mean we're the favorite here, and the last few games something's slipped on Alpine. We'll see if we have one more win left in the tank this season. Here's hoping this game puts us back in the top 5.

Queen City over Ronin: Gut feel, baby. This one will sim quickly with all the rushing plays, and I think Queen City's going to hold on here.

Sunday Funday over TTs: TT's going to have to be satisfied with his back to back league wins 'cause I don't think he's getting the upset on Funday.

Bruins over MEM: Bruins are a lot more tested at the top than MEM is, and they've put up some quality results. I think they're the better team and we're going to see a lot of them in the top 10 next season.

Providence over OG: I don't think we've seen Providence's ceiling yet.

Seahawks over Iowa: This isn't a matchup pick as much as just my opinion that Seahawks are a top 10-15 team, while Iowa is probably 15-20. That's not a big difference and Iowa can certainly win any given game, but in the long run I'll take Seahawks.

On a side note, while Portland and Queen City haven't played in ladder matches, we have scrimmed 15 times this season. 6 wins, 8 losses, and a tie in those 15 games for Queen City.

I still think that the last ladder game of the season should be #1/2, #3/4, #5/6, #7/8, #9/10, etc. all the way down the ladder.

None of this "ten ladder ranks difference" for the final matchup of the season.

At the very least force the final matchup within the top 10. Maine looks to be at kinda a disadvantage possibly with that matchup despite winning it in comparison to DD, Ronin, and Queen City. Funday probably can't get higher than a 2 despite a win because of Ronin and Queen City.
