No, I seriously doubt asking per season unless he's wording his post wrong. He may want to know what the cost of the first season is, which would be the majority of the total, but nobody builds a team (and purchases all the boosts) around an offense, by one agent, and only keeps it a season. He did mention the cost for the first season with purchasing all the boosts, but he wants to know the total cost because he's keeping the players/team. The first season is going to cost more than the next seasons, which would only be fluctuating based on available AP/SP boosts to purchase.

For instance, just to buy the 43 players is over 33k.

Plus, if he's thinking about buying just enough flex to cover each season, then the cost dramatically goes up than getting all the flex he is going to need in the beginning in bulk.

Oh, I was definitely thinking over the life of the team. Except they're a virtual a team and hence, not really "alive". Except what is life anyway? Is it the ability to reproduce? Is it the self-awareness? In either case, how do we know we're not just part of some greater cosmic entity's dream? Or perhaps just a simulation ourselves?

Anyway, not having a single wing offense in the game is as good a reason as any not to be dropping $600 on a game. So instead I'll stick we my handful of players and trying to coach defenses in spite of the fact nobody in the secondary of a GLB2 team can cover.

I think the math problem here is the assumption that Career boosts would be purchased in season 1 of the build. If you take those out you're removing over 25k flex from the conversation.

It changes in the later seasons when you need to career and AP boost.

Except he's asking for the cost of everything, or at least what he posted was, if he is actually meaning what he posted.

"But seriously. I'm curious. I'm guesstimating around $40 or so for the players and first season, but then add in all the boosts, and SQUIRREL!!"

Anyways, owning your own team is a ridiculously expensive hobby, whether you pay up front or get all the boosts later.

You're still making the assumption that "all the boosts" means career boosts. I wouldn't career boost until I needed to. No reason to sink the flex that early.

True. But I took the chance based on his description of wanting to run his whole team a specific way. Usually those people want to play their scheme for as long as possible and if they choose to and can shell out the money for a whole team then the career boosts are almost a given, so I erred on the side that'd be correct more times than not.

Obviously. Don't people understand the "time-value of flex"?

Well... since there's no inflation and you can't invest the flex to earn a return, I suppose it actually doesn't really matter if you spend the flex now or later, unless you are retiring GLB1 players as they age out to pay for the boosts.
