I was referring more to the fact that defenders in man coverage are often deeper than the receiver they're covering.

Looks like there have been 32 INTs in Piranha league; Bonn has 6 of them. On the other hand Osprey has 28 INTs overall and Alpine only has 2. I have to agree that scheme matters for INTs. Of course Alpine is letting in a lot fewer points so take that as you will.

I'd guess a FS standing in the middle of the field isn't usually considered "help" enough for defenders to jump routes.

Edit: That is purely conjecture, I don't know for sure without finding the code and going through it and working out the math, which I'm not going to do purely for this thread.

So Eli Manning throws more INTs in a season than other leagues have in a season.

If guys were getting 10 ints a season right now superstars would be nuts.

Agreed.

I'm not too concerned with numbers. If a guy doesn't have the skills (vertical, balance, intercepting, awareness) necessary to make the INT, I'm fine with him not getting the INT.

Like I mentioned, I'm more concerned about defender positioning. Being 1-2 yards DEEPER than the receiver leaves you in a poor position to do anything other than tackle the receiver after he catches the pass. Complaining about, or praising INT/PD numbers is kind of pointless until the defender is actually in a position to do those things in the first place.

2 -> 10, big difference.

Obviously it's not going to get better because someone already has 100 awareness on a position that should use it to jump long passes. And QBs are only going to get better. Yeah, the defender might get a little faster, but if he's already not reacting fast enough at the highest skill level you can achieve to react, and the QB is only going to greatly increase his pass awareness, accuracy, and power, then good luck having one whole team getting 10 INTs in one season.

Ya that guy with 100 awareness I'm sure has a great looking build. It couldn't possibly get any better from here to vet league.

That's like saying man that guy has 100 snap reaction and still isn't sacking people. It isn't gonna get any better than that.

My CB now has 2 INTs in 3 games since I started working on his INT ability. I don't know why you guys are acting like this interception stuff is so hard.

Just look at my build from Page 1. I have 42 Interception attribute and yet not 1 Interception (I also have been working on the supporting attributes, not ignoring them)

Just had a pretty legit looking INT on a jumped route - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/29129/2726568?player_id=23475

Intercepting ability - a whopping 13.

I had a dback with 4 ints in rookie without touching intercepting. 0 this season, but to be fair I still haven't touched intercepting

Except those skills are ridiculously cheap and there is still plenty SP left over to compliment them.
