Biggest hits will be when teams lose super stars.

I think if you are well organized enough as a team to have multiple superstars you shouldn't have much trouble finding someone to replace them over the 10 seasons or whatever you have until they retire.

5 seasons. And that is only if they bought the season boosts. Anything lower than Vet league doesn't really count because you obviously aren't worrying about replacing someone prior to hitting their stride.

What do World League teams do? They recruit from the Farm team and the FAs and then reset the farm team.
I think it would be interesting if teams had to restart in Rookie every 10 seasons. Your ladder empire goes from Season 1 to Season 10, then your ELO, records, and all of your trophies are saved and you have to start again in rookie. Kind of like how a permenant HoF retirement for a player should go.
1) It would demonstrate which team was able to achieve the highest ELO in 10 seasons, so you wouldn't have the S1 teams always having an entire seasons worth of games over the others;
2) It would show your Win/Loss record for the 10 seasons;
3) It would display your championships for the 10 seasons;
4) It would force people to create new players and always be caring about each season, because you only get 10 to prove you are the best... you can't just have 0 cares for 4 seasons and then get your ELO up using farm teams and recruitment once you get to plateau, because your 0 cares seasons will hurt your team retirement ELO.

I feel like that is the path they have set on without an established hierarchy system as far as league play goes.
I assume eventually a Champions League kind of tournament (hopefully if they code it they do it as a proper round robin system than a cheap single elim bracket) will be created to simulate the WL for people's itch to be the best and then appearances & wins by the same owners/networks will track themselves.
I guess it's possible for them to ad hoc a pyramid once people get to Veteran, sort by ELO, and let veteran teams perennially fight it out (replacing players every couple seasons as necessary) but it seems a little out of place with the way the rest of the game is built (the ladder as a seperate entity, etc.)

Well you are assuming everyone has a plan laid out for replacing superstars. It isn't like you yourself have a superstar QB ready to be groomed up to replace your guy on Zorp when you retire. Not to mention they have to have the same traits or finances get all messed up. It isn't as easy as just slipping on a new pair of slippers.

You are weirdly comparing this to GLB1. In GLB1 if I let go of my star QB (he isn't a superstar) and replace him with another of the same build. I lose 4 chemistry for the whole process at best. Here I not only have to take into account the financial part of my lineup but I also have to consider that this QB will be starting at 0 chemistry coming in.
The biggest difference between the 2 games is that more teams will likely just run with a new team rather than work to replace the teams they have. Because logically that makes more sense. But sure teams will want to continue success with their solo team as well. But that won't be the more desirable path for winning.

Obviously my "brother" Trial Time will just have to buy the farm team and build all of the replacement players.

I'm just saying if you actually had to earn achievements or do something performance or otherwise time-gated to gain a superstar, it would force a lot of networks to look outside their circle to find new blood to keep being competitive.

Ya the idea of creating another WL atmosphere and having the Ladder really doesn't make much sense. Nor is it entirely fair to the general teams below that league when it comes to the ladder.

Chem isn't the big deal you are making it out to be.
Replacing 25% of your players a season wouldn't be a huge hit. Yes, they are all going to operate at 0 chem, but if you are a top ranked ladder team, you could just sit there at the top of the ladder and watch your opponents keep coming at you with farm teams (who may have perfect chem), but they will need to play you a hell of a long time, because your ELO should be fortified from playing top ladder teams for five seasons.
The 0 chem on 25% of your players hasn't proven to be a huge problem for teams like DD, who still sit at the top of the ladder despite making huge roster replacements.

I don't think you are ever going to force networks to go far beyond their circle. And in doing so that is only going to make them larger and cannibalize more of the competition. Which just sort of sucks. Kinda like what DS had going for awhile. 25% of the WL was them and a good portion of the best FA's otherwise that it just was sort of lame playing the season.

So do you pyramid or do you keep the Animal leagues/divs/rivalries alive?
