PREDICTIONS SON:
FIRST GAME Philadelphia Devils vs. Hub City Hustlers
Hub City Hustlers, a team that I can commend for easily having one of the top 5 rushing attacks in the game clashes against Philadelphia Devils, the 43rd ranked ladder team who recently proved their themselves in the sudden death round after defeating the Tucson Reptiles 9-7 in what was a very impressive defensive feat. Holding Tucson to only 185.5 yards. Can the Devils stop one of the best rushing attacks in the game?
Prediction: Not quite…
28-7 Hub City > Philly
TT’s Wolfpack of One vs. Minnesota Reapers
It seems the wolfpack is on the prowl for food as they enter day 4 of there no loss streak. This team seems to have really come into its own this season striking the perfect balance of pass and run on offense and being steadfast defense. On the other side we have an inconsistent Minnesota who have been up and down lately…Losing 0-17 against the Tampa Piranhas on the 1st, but defeating Black Ice en Fuego 42-21 just last night seems to highlight the challenges and inconsistency they are facing. Will the Reapers strike a good game? Or will the Wolf pack chow down!?
Prediction: Tough game, but Wolfpack will have a nice meal.
38-33 Wolfpack > Reapers
Iowa Rogues vs. Erkner Razorbacks
This game features two 5-0 teams who seem to have been running in high gear since the start of the season. Erkner is coming in on a hot 5 day winning streak, including notable wins against Philadelphia Devils (31-14) and A Good Day to Die (24-21 Sudden Death Round). Iowa Rogues being led by the FANTASTIC QB that is Laser Shine (Riddler08) who has been on fire since opening snap of Season 2. This is a great matchup against two great teams. Can Erkner slow down the seemingly unstoppable Iowa defense? Or will Iowa continue to shine through on to the next round.
Prediction: That QB will sling wild
28-24 Iowa > Erkner
Chicago Bruins vs. Portland Ronin
Chicago Bruins are one of the teams whose record inaccurately represents their skill level, but I do believe their 19th ranked ladder spot does accurately represent them. Chicago is the type of team that can hang with anyone in the game currently, not succumbing to any hype from high ranked teams. This is the perfect type of team to face Portland Ronin, one of the undisputed top 3 teams in the game. Neither league nor ladder has been able to stop that high powered rushing attack, but I believe Chicago can do it, which is why I call upset alert.
Prediction: Upset
35-28 Chicago Bruins > Portland Ronin
Maine Snails vs. Doinitin Djibouiti
This seems to be pretty clearly the most intense matchup in the tournament: The #1 ranked team facing off against the #2 ranked team. Both teams can do it all, but it is clear Maine is the better offensive team and Djibouti is the better defensive team. Can Djibouti stop the aggressive Maine rushing game? Can Maine stop the well-oiled machine of an offense that is Doinitin Djibouti?
Prediction: Yes they can**HIGHLIGHT GAME OF THE ROUND**
14-10 Maine > Djibouti
OG GLB vs. New York Nightmare
This game features one of my favorite quarterbacks in the game in BraxAre pretty balanced teams in ton Miller Jr. of OG GLB. The fantastic OG GLB Passing attack led by Braxton Jr. is a tough feat for any, especially New York Nightmare, who seem to be struggling with consistency this season. These are two passing teams who are not afraid to put the ball on the ground a few times a game. Question is, can NYN keep up with OG?
Prediction: Not at all
42-24 OG > NYN
Legacy vs. Black Ice En Fuego
Legacy being led my AirMcMVP faces off against Black Ice en Fuego. Both of these squads are pretty balanced in terms of mixing the run and the pass in their offenses, but one clearly stands above the other to me. And that has to be because of Legacy’s run defense. If Legacy can take away one dimension of Fuego’s offense, then they have this game in the bag.
Prediction: Legacy puts out the fire
24-10 Legacy > Fuego
