Even the, do you go with a big slot receiver, with skills based on moving the chains with the tough catch, or with the glorified WR to stretch the seem and run the deep post? Because most formations will feature the TE in both ways, but can you do both at a high enough level to be effective?

I just think with TE's you have to have some blocking, some possession, some deep threat . . . .

You don't need any of that. Do you not understand GLB2?
Build a player to do one or two things, find a team who does those things, succeed.

You aren't forced to build that at all, in fact i bet your OC would encourage you not to...

Also stop comparing this mumbo jumbo halfstepped Joe you are building to linebackers, because LBs aren't built like that...
Their are 3 clear archetypes being built for LBs right now (if you know whats good for you)

Our TE should execute both types of routes at a higher level than a TE that's invested anything into blocking. I'd agree in general though, a TE that's expected to be equal parts blocker and receiver has a tougher job building than some other offensive positions.

That crappy built "jack of all trades" LB just got Top Performer in today's ladder game

5 tackles, 2 assists, 3 sticks, 0.5 sacks, 1 hurry, 1 FFum, 1 FRec

You beat a team with 13 CPU players and no high contracts. I'm not saying your LB is bad, but that's competition that isn't worth bragging about.

They run 3 QBs and 4 HBs, which leaves them with 2 Gs and 1 C, and that C is the only human OL. It's a bad team. Numbers against them are not numbers people should be impressed by.

at near 300th in the ladder, I would be ashamed to say that my joe got top performer in essentially what was a Shirts v Skins game.

btw your whatever that is is on there because of special teams performance, in reality he was beat out of DMVP by a CPU SS

I kind of admire your strange pride in thinking how what you are doing is right, but it will bring your downfall, so you are a fool for it.

best of luck though.. Not everyone can make good joes....

Sometimes I theory and try to take this game all serious, and then posts like this make me smile and remember its just a casual football game.

God bless.

Don't get that wrong though, players that can do everything decently have their place.

Don't think anyone said he was crappy built. The "Jack of all trades" comment was that ya if you are building around a bunch of attributes that are not all that meaningful to coverage, that isn't because building a coverage LB is really hard cuz there are all these attributes. It just means you are building around a jack of all trades.
