Just in regard to the one play you linked in the original post, you do or don't think that ought to be a fumble? To me, it looks like a fumble.

Not much of a way to 100% validate this since this scenario hardly happens in real life,
depends on loose or tight construction of the rules imo, but this scenario (assuming WR doesn't maintain possession on the way down),

Its about whether you should get a KL or FF After a catch and when you dive for a catch, get up and then lose the ball, its freakin Fumble in RL.
The Term Football Move is just generally Used as a move that needs to be done After a catch to rule it complete...dont try to hang yourself on the Term FOOTBALL move. Ots not like you have to Spin or juke to be ruled a Rezeption...

Your not contributing anything to this thread besides insults. You said yourself that they are messed up so why not just try to provide info on what you've seen or stfu.

The problem is that KL is allowed for way too long after the catch. It should be a Boom-Boom interaction.

It looks like a fumble because of the KL that shouldn't have had the chance to occur. It should have been a tackle...maybe even a "stick".

"Football move" hasn't been part of the NFL rules or interpretations for years so how about we just throw that out.

Bort clearly found a problem earlier in the season and I'm not convinced it's fixed.

I'm pretty sure that used to say something about getting up from falling down, and has been edited.

At any rate:
1) OP link should be a fumble, not an incomplete pass
2) "Football move" is pretty outdated terminology
3) If that's the worst case the OP has seen, he's pretty lucky.

Definitely not the worst...just the most recent. I am on my laptop now and I will be looking for the replays I've come across.

According to the replay, yes it should have been a fumble. But according to the sim, where a FF is harder to pull off than a KL, it should just be a tackle...unless the defender is lucky enough to win the FF roll.

That is a much more realistic situation. He made a step or two with the ball. The refs would have definitely gone under the hood on that one.

player then gets u and runs forward to about the 42 before being hit and what you would think would be a fumble, but no, its knocked loose - incomplete and this was @ 173

But yet - bad

In the Pedro post above - I'm laughing. WR catch/fumble (debatable) but then rather than tackle the guy laying 1 inch away - he gets up and sprints toward the nearest (5-10 yards) defense guy and starts trying to beat the crap out of him....awesome
