Wouldn't a DB be more likely to get FFs from Strip Technique than Power Tackling?

I think there has to be some kind of gang tackling going on for strip technique to activate

That's incorrect, gang tackling is required for the Opportunist Ability. SThere is no requirement for a player to use strip technique except to be attempting a tackle.

DBs got it for the Knocked Loose roll tbh.

I wouldn't go that route again if I had to do it over.

Might be better off at plateua then during the rookie season.

None of the tackling skills are a magical serum, they all play into various parts of a tackle.

Strip Tech plays a part also, and to some extent (though not directly) Intimidation.

Yeah, I pumped up strip technique on my CB to 50+ early on, and it was a complete waste. I've tackled a ton of WRs since then who put nothing into carrying grip (at least all the open builds I saw) and I've gotten nothing for all those skill points. I even tried upping tackling technique as well. He can tackle just about anyone at this point but nothing has helped cause fumbles. And to be honest why should he have to be great at all the various tackling aspects to cause a fumble. One name: Charles Tillman. Mediocre tackler, certainly not a power tackler, but amazing strip technique and causes tons of fumbles against WRs not used to covering up and RBs too. But it doesn't appear I can mimic this type of player. Which is a shame since it's damn near impossible to make an imposing cover corner. Really makes me wish I hadn't spent any time building a CB.

Strip Tech probably requires a drag of some sort. Which becomes a more common thing especially for weaker defenders as we move up levels.

So you're saying my CB has to be getting dragged across the field to strip the ball? From a game standpoint I can see how you would come to that conclusion, but from a realism standpoint that seems kind of silly.

I dunno if they do or not but it would make sense that strips be more common from them otherwise it would basically be from a power hit which is power tackling.

Sorta how it happens in real life,

people don't just run up to a ball carrier and strip the ball... It's usually in a gang tackle or a prolonged tackling sequence (getting dragged).

The art of striping is going to come from some sort of grip on the ball carrier/ball itself. Thinking about it like you are swatting the ball out of someones hands as they run by probably isn't a good way to code it into a football game when that serves its purpose through power tackling.

Yeah they do actually, see it rather routinely in the NFL.

Punching the ball out not running by but when coming up behind or grabbing the arm and yanking the ball loose that way, "attacking the ball" happens.

I'd say you see more fumbles from that sort of thing than you do from drawn out drags.

Big hits would be probably the second most common.
