Let what go? ALGs? I have no problem with them being gone. The whole reason we removed them, or a big reason, was so that we don't have some teams trying and other teams building for later. So why introduce a change that creates exactly that scenario all over again?

Isn't this the exact opposite?

When skills start costing more a 5% reduction saves you a larger number of skill points. It doesn't matter if it costs you 190 SP instead of 200 to level up Sprinting at low levels because it'll take you doing that 20 times before that turns into one extra skill point in something else.

I think both Early Bloomer and Slow Built are extremely negligible for the first 40,000 skill points. 5% of that is still only 2000 SP, which is only converting into an extra 15-20~ points in stuff that is cheap (aka not Sprinting, not Vertical - there you are talking even less). That's not really game breaking and you could achieve the same effect taking more powerful individual traits (like Slot Receiever for 10% less catch in traffic). You aren't even getting to 40k in your first season I believe.

pretty much this honestly. It wont make as big a difference as you think. There are so many attributes now that the extra 15-20 points would be barely notice able

You also know that most of the caps are very low and that you can't use early bloomer to suddenly get a lot faster because you just don't have the SP to "break away" from the pack. Because the SP cost increases with every point, it will be even less of an issue because you won't be 5% ahead due to the limit on available SPs.

5% is still 5%. On 180,000 SPs that means you have essentially 189,000 SPs. That's at vet level.

Someone taking Speedster on their WR is getting what a 10% or 12% reduction to sprinting skill costs? That's an 18,000 to 21,600 SP cost savings over the quickness and sprinting skills.

The 5% won't make nearly the difference that you think it will because by the time the SP is significant, the build is going to be maxing out at some very low caps.

Fifth season maybe? In the meantime, you've got a build that will be able to max out the Power Pass, Power Run, and Run Tech skills pretty quickly. If they put a lot of points in strength and agility to start, they will have a beast run and a decent pass for many seasons. They will never be as good as Meathead + Power Blocker + Run Blocker in the fourth or fifth season, but they will be excellent STs and run blockers for the first three.

Early Bloomer + Power Blocker + Run Blocker

Just put together a fairly solid OT on my test server with the aforementioned traits.

All blocking skills in 60-70 range, with everything else slightly above average.

srsly ppl, basic thought.

What is 5% of 100. and what is 5% of 5000.

later > early when it comes to % in savings over time.

which well is the point. if it didnt work like that early bloomer would be a bad trait for the game.

you get those cap boosts later on so you can counter the lower cap limits on some skills.

i used it on one of my guys because i planned on retiring him anyway. some of the combos with EB can be VERY good thou
