But there were like two teams to beat at every level, and whatever worked against those teams turned out to be deemed the best.

You and TT saw an entirely different game than everyone at the Vet level because we were in a different metagame. Bhalls team was pure passing, so suddenly defenses that stop passing, and whatever skills they used, were higher priority. In your guys metagame, it was mostly rushing, so "rushing is overpowered" and the defensive metagame was stopping the rush.

I'm not ragging on anybody or saying testers were useless, it was just a very contained environment where one team became the team to beat and whatever could beat them became "useful".

Footwork is also vastly underrated on QBs from what I've seen.

Sure. P.S. Old Gamble kicked booty at the vet level. I just didn't play vet again after my tester in crime cut all my dots, lol.

I'm very interested to see how long it takes us to figure out which attributes can be combined to make OP... sprites?

Yes. I used that a lot in my rookie season to rollout faster and avoid the sack. Once I switched to a running team, I cut my superstar passing QB and made a QB that was accurate and had a ton of leadership.

----

I always had more footwork on my o-line and d-line than the others. I don't think it is a skill that should be ignored on either side of the ball for two reasons:

1) I think lateral movement helps pick up blocks cleanly and gives you better momentum going into the block; and
2) I used my o-line as STs blockers, so I made sure that my whole o-line had 30+ quickness, sprinting, and footwork. Superstars had 40+.

Footwork would seem to be important for anyone in zone coverage, DB or LB.

I can see Footwork having Value at every Position... but the question would be what DEGREE of Value? Enough to not push STR to Max on a DL? Enough to not Max say Catching on a WR?

A QB should require high Footwork, to evade rushers and find open passing lanes... most of their game is spent moving Backwards and Sideways.

RBs would be huge with Footwork as well, I could see.

Not K, but maybe even P could use Footwork to evade a Punt Block. But how much are you really going to invest in it would be the Question that needs answered.

It's what I love about this being so 'new'... while there are Wrong Answers you can't really make Wrong Choices, because it's the only way to find the Impact of an Ability.

Ya was a pretty different metagame. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to stop the rushing game in the lower levels and a lot of time trying to figure out how to stop the passing game in the upper levels.

Would footwork be the thing that helps them drop back faster or would drop back power be more beneficial?

Also, do cornerbacks backpedal at all at higher levels or at all? I can't seem to notice on replays because usually they just stand there until the WR passed and then they turn and run after the WR.

I was just gonna ask about that. Backpedaling definitely seems to be used with CBs when in zone coverage. But in man, on streak routes, I notice they allow the WR to run past them as they turn around very, very slowly, and the WR gets a 5 yard head start. Do you guys think the super slow turning around is footwork or quickness or something different?

Backpedal only happens in zone from what I have seen in the upper levels too. When covering in man they always turn right away to run with the target.
