I just posted details.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4961273&page=1#46009329As it says there I am looking to draft day -8 so please confirm/hard commit if you want to participate. I setup the scoring to take into account that it is generally much easier to pass than run in GLB. You will find that there is the possibility of drafting impact players at every position (except K). This was also a priority for me. I did not want it to be a case where whatever 3 people drafted the best 3 QBs dominated no matter what. I think the way it is set up you should be able to win several different ways if you pick the right players.
I also wanted the points system to be simple and uniform. A TD scored is a TD scored, whether passing, rushing, receiving, returning or on defense. Passing yards are 1 point per 30, rushing and receiving yards are 1 point per 4, returning yards are 1 point per 10. Perhaps counting sack yardage as negative yardage for QBs will be controversial. The way the game is set up you can just go volume with the pass and put up huge numbers. I wanted a way to balance this out, and I accomplished this I believe by counting sack yardage as negative rush yardage and also by weighting INTs at -5 points rather than the standard -2 points.
The DST position can also make probably the biggest impact in terms of points, but it is also the most unpredictable. The top 9 DSTs were not in WL last season so the question becomes how well their defenses will translate to the big stage. Picking a good defense (i.e. one that turns out to be great) could end up scoring you more points than even a QB or RB, but there is a lot of risk involved in the pick.
I split up the DST into one position and KR into another position just to give you another weapon to start. To compensate DSTs have several categories to score positive and negative points in.
This raises one final point of strategy, which is generally how well stats in Pro leagues will transfer to WL. Many of the top points scorers last season played in Pro leagues. How well will their game translate to WL? That is up to you to decide. Should you pick a sure thing, a guy who performed well in WL last season, but with a lower points total or take a chance on a guy who tore up a Pro league last season? It's up to you.
I think this will be fun!
