You won one title when it mattered (S18) now this league is so watered down it doesnt really mean much to win a PWG title.

Sure, but I'm not really talking about Maine. I'm talking about FG vs Boendby and Crackertown for the #2 spot. I don't care about Maine, they're obviously the best team, but how is it my fault that gold has no talented teams?

Jkid get some fresh air man. It's a message board game. It's like playing pool with your buds. Win some and lose some and in the end it doesn't matter.

Nobody said it's your fault man, just pointing out that PWG right now is awful compared to what it used to be. If it really matters, you're #2.

Simply put jkid and I'm completely un-biased here, The teams that were fielded by Main, Cracker and boendby were in the prime of the league (PWG).. No doubt you, Gerr, LE will go down as some of the better agents to ever do this... it's just that back then when it was really hard to be consistent.. Those teams were. They were always threatening to OR actually taking titles. As it was stated.. at the HEIGHT of PWG.. you only one 1 gold trophy.

Don't get me wrong you were a perennial top 4 in the reg season.. but didnt really have the luck in the playoffs. I would give you a case vs boendby though... Nothing touches Maine.. and crackertown is a pretty safe second imo.. Another team i'm surprised is not in the mix mentioned as one of the better teams was opppogo.. Legster was an absolute monster IMHO... but again its really a toss up for everyone after #1...

An ever changing and unmentioned factor in this discussion in the sim, some times teams build plans just match up with how the sim plays out...

Ignoring that factor is a pretty naive way to approach this discussion.

Even with less teams winning in a balanced sim is much more impressive than having properly placed 25 dbs in a pass heavy sim or something of the sort in my opinion as balanced sims tend to take more careful gameplanning to achieve consistent victories... as opposed to just having the correct make-up and build plan.

The only thing about Boendby was that they won in seasons 26-27, after gold's quality had already gone way down. I pretty much draw the line between season 25 and season 26 because that was when gold severely declined.

I don't know If I ever have beat FG. Cant remember ever doing so, not the case with the rest. Maine takes the #1 for the streak of rings but FG is the Gatekeeper. FG from my recall entered more and went deeper or won more tourny's than anyone except the PWGCG. Didn't matter if Jkid had 10 Games in 5 days, you know every game he was bringing it. FG also is a 1 man army, which to stay commited to play at that lever for so long is a great accomplishment. I tip my hat to FG. they are my #2

I would have to revise my rankings as...

#1 - Maine - 3-peat makes them the unquestionable #1.
#2 - FGC - 2-1 in championship games and has a long history of being a powerhouse in PWG.
#3 - Boendby - 2-1 in championship games was a dominate team when they were in PWG.
#4 - Crackertown - 2-0 in championship games and during the seasons they tried, they were dominate.
#5 - SBWL - 1-2 in championship games and has a long history of being a powerhouse in PWG.
#6 - Chicago - 1-2 in championship games and has a long history of being a powerhouse in PWG.
#7 - Cascade - 1-2 in championship games and during the seasons they tried, they were dominate.
#8 - Tombstone - 1-1 in championship games, but had a short career in PWG.

Tennessee Crabs #1

Ok, I know they are not eligible... but I think they've had the most influence in Pee Wee Gold ... I have no doubt in my mind if Dony and I would not have taken so many seasons off.. and not split up the Crabs.. they would be the unquestionable #1. I don't regret it though.. it was great making friends with DuPraes, Gruppo, JStrong, and Goats agents, and RK and the Maine agents ( even though I was ghost on the team message boards)

Here's why:
S11- Copper playoffs, first season didn't have a complete team
S12 - Official Tourney Winners - Runner up Silver League
S13- Gold Champs

I became HC of Tombstone:
S14- Gold Champs
S15- Runner up

Dony takes over Crackertown OC/DC in S14ish...
S16- Crackertown Gold Champs

Cascade time! I become Head Coach of Cascade
S17- Gold Champs

S18 - NO CRABS INFLUENCE in GOLD

I take over Crackertown HC for a season
S19- dominant regular season, upset in playoffs

I join Maine in S20, RK and I share builds and strategy... created a private forum for each other and put our heads together (insert jokes on last statement) we exported builds from previous seasons and discussed.
I did not game plan AT ALL for Maine.. but I do think my build ideas helped put RK's plan together. He also had more time to get creative with builds once he turned the game planning over to Jackson and Guzz.
Maine Dominance happens!
S20, S21, S22

S23 - No Crabs influence

I take over Crackertown again
S24 - Crackertown wins Gold
S25- decent season for Crackertown... but heart was not in it.

S26 and beyond.. no Crabs influence.

Crabs strongly influenced 5 Gold Titles - S13 Crabs, S14 Tombstone, S16 Crackertown (Dony95 HC), S17 Goats, S24 Crackertown

Crabs lightly influenced Maine's title run... S20, S21, S22

Crabs strongly influenced 2 runner ups... S15 Tombstone, S16 Goats

And...

I've had a significant number of dots on 7 championship teams and 2 runner ups....... I did have a strength LB on S16 Crackertown, but I'm not claiming him since all the AI was from Dony95. Also, I think my teams won the official tourney 2 other times... S17 and S24 I believe... and 2 or 3 air attacks with the Goats.

No doubt the coaching talent from the Crabs had a large influence in Gold, but a franchise is known for what that team did, not what the talent from that team later did on other teams.

We could What-If PWG to death and have a million different scenario's, so instead we just look at what teams have done.

We could always start a new thread with a focus on coaches/owners rather than teams and I could easily see you at or near the top of that list.

Hey mccollums! I'm still lurking around, but decided to sell PNM this season. I just don't have the time or money to make PNM anything more than a middle of the road non-boosting team. I may get the itch and buy a new PW team next season, but probably not.

You know if they really wanted to make PWG what it is supposed to be again, GLB should make sure every team is human owned. There are a number of silver teams that didn't make it to the championships but they would be better than the CPU teams.
