Hate to tell you boys but Brisbane wins 48-0 sorry, hes that damn good. I give respect where respect is due and he handed us our hats.

Nice prediction. Within 4 without going over.

Good god. They were undefeated and you just beat them by 52 points. Jesus Christ. I havent payed much attention to the Alpha Conference, and I just looked at your team profile and you have only been scored on once, and that was a FG. Good job. Even though your team is all of your own players, you still game plan extremely well and have kicked everyone's ass so far.

Hehe... Yeah, I'm not sure how great my game planning has been. If I had to guess, I'd say its player builds that are keeping me on top. I'm very surprised at how well I faired against Melbourne and Tonga. I'll be interested to see if I can keep it up against Palau and New Guinea.

The points allowed are a little deceiving though. Tonga had at least two solid drives going that ended in red zone INTs and I'm sure they would have come away with points otherwise.

Also, I'd like to give a shout out to EC Express who would have had 3 points but for an unlucky miss from about 30 yards out.

It really helps to have a +4 level (or so) advantage across the board as well.

Not going to talk smack, but running the entire team sure has to make it MUCH easier for not having to worry about inactives, people paying attention, and such.

This is only my first season playing GLB, and it makes me wonder how people/teams can catch up to 'one man show' type teams where they have a level advantage, like this one? Being forever behind by X-number of levels won't make this a long-term-fun sort of option.

well unless he's planning on dumping a lot more money into the game again.. he wont' be able to constantly boost his team every season.

but who knows.. maybe he will

Nope, in fact, I doubt I'll be able to boost much after this season. I got in a full set of boosts after an almost full season in the D-Leagues, and I hope to finish boosting my team for this season, but even that will be a budgeting challenge. It helps that I'm quitting smoking though.

Edit: Unless the US government decides to send me another check for no reason.

A couple of comments on this:

Yeah, running the whole team definitely has its advantages. The ones you mentioned plus the glorious advantage of never having anyone whine, threaten to play on relaxed if they don't get their way, etc.

But I don't want to discourage you from playing GLB.

About the levels, I think you'll find that as everyone goes up in level the relative difference diminishes. That is, if my team is all Lv.16 and your team is all Lv.12, that's basically an insurmountable difference. But, if my team is all Lv.28 and your team is all Lv.24, my advantage is much less significant.

Even more than that though, don't forget about promotion and relegation. Come the end of this season I will either get promoted and be out of your hair, or I'll lose in the playoffs and you'll be wondering how I could have looked so strong to you now.

by the time we get to the 20's in level......we will get most our leveling up by boosting anyways.....and i noticed the bandicoots players don't all have cust. equip.
........so if you guys boost and get custom equip, you'll be competitive............
not saying you'll win.....but at least put some dang points on the board against them.

LOL, well, my players in this league are on the D-side of the ball, so I am hoping to slow the offense down first. Them both being young probably didn't help matters much, but they are the backups.

But I have to say, I was shocked as all hell to see the margin of victory in our game. When it was 10-3 in the second quarter I thought we had a close game in the making, but after that it just got out of hand.

we were ok if we didnt have 6 turnovers including a botched punt after forcing a 3 and out to start the game. The problem is our backups, your guys are basically two starting units while our backup linemen are level 4 8 and 8 so when they came in even just one of them, the entire line collapsed. we were outmatched plain and simple

in other words he smoked that ass, and you have justified it by all the miscues. do you think its possible he just planned better than you? my guess is even if you didnt have all the TOs he still beats you by 40...but i guess thats more of a morale victory then isnt it?

Well, I think he has a point to an extent. If you notice, it was 3-0 after the first quarter. In that first quarter Tonga had some good drives ended by turnovers plus the botched punt. So an unlucky first quarter probably led to confidence problems which I assume were compounded by stamina/substitution problems as the game progressed. Since I don't really know how much low morale contributed to the game getting out of hand its hard for me to assess how important those early miscues were.
