I know the Pro leagues have become so watered down it is pathetic. But how is it that teams can promote to the WL, but then win 0-2 games the next season? Especially when they keep 99% of the same roster? I know it has been talked about many times, but too many good teams are staying in Pro's too long when we have teams that clearly don't need to play in the WL. Are play in games just not the right answer?

Because I play in EEPro, I know of the Black Sea Sunami , and know they would easily be a .500+ team in the WL the past few seasons. It IS their own fault for not getting promoted, but think teams like theirs would add more to the WL than some that get promoted each season. For me it's just that games that go to the wire are so fun to watch...win or lose (granted when you lose one it sucks). There just has to be a better way to decide who the best teams in GLB are and put them together. I doubt they will ever change it, but damn, it would be nice...

sorry your GLB world isn't perfect

The problem is not with the WL, but with the Pros. Make the league structure a perfect pyramid and most of the problems are solved.

WL competition level is perfect. It's the one thing in this game that works right.

BSS would not be a +.500 team, that's where your mistake is. BSS is more likely one of those teams that wins 2-5 games depending on conference draw and luck in games. They are in that group of "better than 90% of Pro teams" but "not as good as WL playoff teams". There's probably 25-40 teams in that tier. After a few trips to WL, some teams have moved up and gotten better - but I don't think BSS has gotten there without seeing them prove it in the WL.

And for those saying a BSS team has been here before - two BSS teams have been here before. Black Sea Squall got 4 wins, and Black Sea Sunami got 3 wins.

Ok, you could be right...I wasnt trying to make an argument for BSS...more against the teams who come in for 1 season and win 0-2 games...

The problem is that these teams come up without knowing what the level is. And frankly, how could they? They play a bunch of WL teams in scrims, but that is nothing like league play up here. If there had been two leagues below the WL, competition would have been great and they would be much more ready for what they meet when they make it here (probably only want to promote something like 4 teams from each league, promotion to the WL should be an accomplishment). I think something like this suggestion would bring back the fun for a lot of teams that are currently coasting through the Pros, but aren't quite on the WL level.

This is a brilliant idea!

The best teams from USAPL / CPL / WEPL / EEPL in a Northern Hemisphere League

The best teams from SLAP / SEAPL / APL / OPL in a Southern Hemisphere League

I say it about BSS because they play tons of tournaments and ranked scrimmages against a lot of good teams and win a lot of them. You can give me the whole lolscimmage thing all you want to, but we all know 80% of that is just talk...people like to win. Yes sometimes people just want breaks, and yes sometimes they coast...but just take a look at how many games BSS has won over the past 3 seasons. Maybe they are all "lolscrims" ranked/tournaments or not...but I highly doubt it and think they are a quality team...I bet there are plenty of other ones just like it or better too, that just get bad luck (like being in the same division as Alpine)...

The fact that BSS has lost every season in the PO's when people actually gameplan proves the lolscrim theory.

I do agree that sometimes a team catches a bad sim in the PO's and the 2 best teams don't make it to WL from time to time, but when it has happened to the same team for several consecutive seasons it isn't a fluke, it's a pattern.

One thing that might make it better is to have more equal conferences between leagues. I have seen a lot of PL's where the 2 or even 3 best teams end up in the same conference.

That said, I have no idea how it could be done. The sim changes a little every season, as do rosters and coords, so I think you would have to be able to see the future to ensure that.

Easy fix. Merge the Pro leagues. Cut them in half. Way too many bad teams in Pro and when you do get the top 2 teams in the same conference, both can go if they make the conference finals.

They keep them around because people like to brag and feel good about themselves saying they're a "pro team" for the most part. That's usually what keeps people from condensing or making a more competitive league. Most people on GLB say they want more competition but they just want to have closer wins, not really the chance of going 4-12
