what I mean by this.. you have to boost on day 48. then you're level 4 when the preseason starts and you can not be signed by a Pee Wee team.

I don't agree with this. I have to do more gameplanning now as the quality of teams has gotten better IMO. From about season 15 to season 18, I only had to gameplan at all for about 3-4 games per season and I was easily able to go 14-2 or better each season. Since season 19, and really since season 22 with the new plays, that has changed a lot because of the rental EQ reducing the NO/NO sentiment. I remember in season 17 or 18 playing in the east with 5-6 boosting/CEQ teams. So, it is much harder now, not easier, but we are still not tougher than the WL, not even close because of how many more variables they are dealing with up there.

I disagree and can prove it. In previous seasons, I would game plan at least some for every game, more for the tougher games. This season, I have done ZERO game planning on either of my Gold teams. In fact, I can't game plan because the two teams share the exact same offense and defense. And by share, I mean they call it from my shared AI area, so changing either the offense or defense changes things for both teams since they call it from a single source. I do tweak things frequently, but that comes from watching a game that has already been played. I have also played with different plays and the % those plays are called.

Not once have I made a single change in an attempt to take advantage of a weakness of a team that I was going to play. All I do is tag for the games, that's it, and both of my teams are 8-0. I am not saying this to brag, but instead bring up the point that this season is not as tough as previous seasons have been. No way would I be undefeated if I had used this method in previous seasons. It's not that the teams are any weaker, but rather that there is not as much game planning going on in general, and thus the competition level in PWG has lowered some.

And I only admit this now because I am in the process of giving each time their own offense and defense now that I have a good half season of tweaks to my system.

Maybe you are just horrible at gameplanning?

Hence why you always do really well during the regular season and awful in the playoffs...

That is until you had Bevo, and then me to do the gameplanning for you... so you wouldn't lose in the first round as always.

IMO I think that gameplanning is much reduced in the current sim. One of the big reasons is that everybody is making all the same builds to spam the scatball. It used to take a lot of effor to properly scout an offense b/c of all of their different player personnel packages and tagging. Now teams have 3-4 identical QB's, 4 identical HB's and 3-4 identical FB's. So all you really have to do is look up the 5-6 plays that they call in a game and you're done.

On offense all you do is see if you want to run the screens, the slants, or the HB/FB passes, plug them in and you're done.

I honestly think this sim is much more boring the the slamball, TBH. I can't really even watch the sims anymore.

Hey, you do what works and there is NOTHING stopping others from doing the same. But it's not as black & white as you make it out to be.

And why are you so outspoken against Scatball and Pump-Fake when you were the King of Slamball when it was the exploit? Seems hypocritical to me...

Without a doubt, YES!

Many upper level owners/coaches have tried to get into PWG and have failed, or got in and got bounced their 1st season. Then they fall back on the age old excuse of LOL-PW to cover their failure.

I won a game this season going run first. Granted my defense scored for us once but sure cut the high scoring down. I think running the ball can still be done if teams would go that route and build power backs and blocking TEs and Fbs. Just everyone is into the air ball that no one tries to run anymore.

So many teams are gearing their defense as pure anti-pass that a good rushing offense can do well against them. I for one wish they would slightly un-nerf the inside rushing game, then you would see a balanced offense return to GLB.

This point of the season passing is OVERPOWERED.. so I don't want the run game unnerfed .. Once the dots mature and it's playoffs.. you'll see better coverage .. and the threat of a run game would be nice. Sim needs tweaking for us.. it just takes the whole Pee Wee community whining before we can get anything done.

that's why builds will be SO important this season... who does the best job of using the new system to build effective dots. can you build a CB that can cover and not get pump faked every other play.. that will be key.

Wow...you're annointing me the King, huh? I guess that's the reason I couldn't get out of Silver during the Slamball days b/c I refused to run the plays over and over.

Slamball can still work. If you like zero first downs and losing 12 of 15 fumbles.
