can't believe i'm going to respond ... you guys got me

Buda left EEPL when we formed a network with Sofia and Buda designated as the top teams. It removed potential competition conflicts. It was OPL cuz we had a team in the network that was willing to flip.

While no hardware yet, the 2 teams with a young network are doing well. Sofia is relevant. Buda, if not next season, will soon be a main stay here too.

There is no animosity with the Hood guys and they know that.

but the new EEPL teams went 6-26. The season before they were 4-28. Odessa is a great team, and Hood has turned the corner into an elite team. But back to back seasons, the new EEPL teams have been crap.

Have not MOST of the new teams been crap. We always have 1-2 that do well, but mostly the new teams go back home each season...iirc

new teams by league this season:

CPL 27-5
OPL 20-12
APL 19-13
SAPL 10-22
SEAPL 9-23
USAPL 6-26
EEPL 6-26
WEPL 5-25

If you combined last season and this season, I bet EEPL is at the bottom. And going back home is different from no new team from EEPL winning more than 3 games in the past two seasons. And Krakow and Stewart next season, I wouldn't expect that to change.

New to WL as well, that first season can be painful for any new team.

Those are terrible numbers. Originally posted by .spider.

How many of those teams were first season in wl?

slap - both
sea - 1
usa - 1
eepl - both
wepl - both

and 4 out of 16 promotes from last season are staying.

Guyana and Asau did pretty good. Obviously it's a big adjustment for some teams. Canton was 14-2 our first season here finished as the 1 seed, Mojo I believe finished as a 1 seed their first season here too. Last season, that Paris team did alright.

I did not check your numbers, but assume they are right. Are those numbers for "new teams" that have never been in WL? That was my point.

Combined that's 102-152

and only 3 of 8 leagues with a winning record. I'd say my argument of most new teams don't do well their first season.

Correct. Odessa 13-3 lost in the second rd to the Garupies with a #1 seed their first season(19) in wl.

Well after Mojo, HOOD, and Spiders left, EEPL has been pretty weak. We were beating each other up and I think that helped us a lot. Now Pro has no games of importance during the regular season so they get to WL and are a bit shell shocked if they don't have any WL experience.
