When they nerfed the inside rushing game, it made it where you don't really need 4DL any longer. A 3DL based defense will do fine. Personally, I think they nerfed the inside rushing game too much, and should un-nerf it a bit, would allow a more balanced offensive attack and give OC's more options.

I know inside rushing is a lot tougher than it used to be. But defenses have really adjusted as well. I'd love to see a well-coached team that is completely built for the power run and just trying to get 3 yards/play in Gold. Very curious to see how they'd do.

The last two seasons we ran a 3-4 and did quite well. This season I was talked into trying the 4-3. I really don't have a problem with it (besides having to make all new plays). It's cool, learning is fun and makes playing the game more of a challenge.

Let's assume that a team was built for the power running game, and ran the ball up the middle 90% of the time. Opposing DCs would stack the box and probably shut this down pretty quickly. If a team can't have some diversity, they are hosed.

I remember a few seasons ago when you had to slam to win....I had my AI set up so that if it was 1st down, I ran up the middle. If it was 2nd and 2-7 yards, I ran up the middle. If it was 3rd down and 0-4 yards, I ran up the middle. Then I had 4th quarter overrides if I was losing and needed to score quickly. Fortunately and Unfortunately, those days are gone. The sim is much more fun now IMO.

I agree, I used to run NON STOP cuz every rush I would gain 5+ yards. It was too easy, especially if you had a RQB. I really enjoy the new sim. It makes things more realistic and more challenging.

LOL, didn't see that. Ya, I got lucky with that W, but it's pre-season, so not a big deal either way.

I think what a lot of people are forgetting. Most teams are playing with small scat Fbs that do NOT block well. Also most Hbs are 5'6" and light. Also throw in the fact that most teams don't even carry a blocking TE and most O-Lines are set to pass block. I'd say it's working as intended.

From a game makers perspective, if passing has a slight edge then people are going to build all out passing teams built to take to the extreme the advantage of passing; then to balance out now seemingly crazy all passing leagues as a result of this the game maker increases the strength of running the ball-for a few seasons the game seems balanced until teams again realize its time to build to the extreme and take advantage of the running game.

Interactive games always have strategical shifts as a result of monkey see monkey do, then other monkey pull trick and do what the other monkeys have all stopped doing... adding in a constantly changing game platform is bound to make some pretty crazy results.

In other words, 99% of what you people constantly blame on the game, the sim, and the game maker... is usually your fault.

So shut up, and play the game legit... and nobody will have to nerf your ass-hat tactics.
