The defensive pathing is obviously an issue, and always has been, but at this point it's more of a design flaw than a bug - defenders don't have good football logic pursuit and containment built into them. The vision line thing seems wonky for sure, haven't seen anything like that before.
(Probably not that big of a deal but ...)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1582311&pbp_id=13879031That run was on 3rd down (which is actually a viable play call in the NFL) but he picked up the first down so the QB doesn't have to worry about spiking the ball on 4th down. He'd be spiking the ball on first down. What happens after that in an NFL game varies. Down 34 to 7, most teams/QBs are going to want to go for the TD. A lot of coaches tend to be conservative so that probably ends in a FG instead.
If they don't try and pick up the TD (Payton/Brees mentality) then there are a lot of options. 19 seconds on the clock, no timeouts and it's running now. Say that play takes 4 seconds off the clock then you have to worry about getting back to the line to spike the ball. Since it only advanced one yard, even the big fat lineman shouldn't have much trouble getting back to LOS quickly although, on that play, there are 2 WRs at/in the end zone. Even then they should be able to get back to the line and set within 7 seconds. Probably a little faster. With that, 11 seconds run off the clock so the offense spikes the ball with 8 seconds on the clock. That's more than enough time to take a shot in the endzone. 5 seconds would be cutting it real close but even that's possible.
QB gets sacked and the half is over.
QB throws a pick then kills himself in the locker room at halftime or something.
Incomplete pass could mean 4-6 seconds run off the clock but the clock stops so you can kick a FG. (and probably end the half)
QB takes too long to throw and runs off the 8 seconds, throws an incomplete pass and ends the half like a dumbass.
QB throws touchdown and gets his team a little closer before the halftime.
Any of those things coulda/shoulda/woulda happened but the sim isn't perfect. Of course some dots have 120 speed and still look a little slow because others have more than 140. I asked Madden and he said that's crazy, Devin Hester only has 100 speed. Then he offered me a deep-fried twinkie.
