I've been saying that this needed to happen forever though. My enjoyment of the game plummeted once the DPC was put into place due to the amount of time needed to run an effective D, made even worse as offenses were given more to balance against the custom plays.

this will ultimately be a great thing for the game, as its much easier to balance the sim within a set box of variables.

NOT this!

As one of the better Pee-Wee DC's, my defense is designed for minimal upkeep. I just tag most games and on the really challenging games, I just tweak the position and assignment of the players some. It's a rare event that I put more than an hour in prepping the defense for any game. Offense on the other hand takes a lot longer.

That's not the current state of Pee Wee though. Offense rules the roost right now. I quit worrying about regular season defenses a few season's back. Playoff D and builds are all that matters - so I started writing build guides that were more patient as to maximize the end of season build. Level 13/14 defensive dots aren't that bad, but regular season Pee Wee defensive dots are horrible.

Getting rid of DPC will ruin the game IMO.

Gerr is right... once you get a good D setup.. minimal effort is needed. Minor tweaking to the positioning and maybe a specialty input here and there ...

Here comes the QB rushes of season 8 and 9. Offense was way too easy then. What a joke! The sole reason I quit doing offense is because I love creating new plays. No wonder Bort kept ignoring my custom defensive folder question in the Q and A. He ignored me twice. It will definitely ruin the game. In the Q and A it kept being brought up that people were exploiting the blitzes. Thats what real football is all about.

I'm not going to read that entire thread but after seeing just a few posts from catch seems like its easier on them as far as coding goes.

Of course it is...lazy bastards. Basically it was too hard to code the OL logic, so they just quit.

its actually a shame that they did this, because the recent updates to the scouting tool are pretty awesome, and make scouting much much easier

oh, you mean you would want to try to debug an infinite number of defensive possibilities?

those guys are so lazy.

Because you're only looking at PeeWee, where there are fewer possibilities.

I promise I've done my fair share of DCing, including a stint in USAPL (pre-WL), and fully understand what it takes to be successful. Its a ton of effort, and this change reduces the time investment of the user while simultaneously allowing the admins to provide a better product.

It was a pipedream to believe that they could balance all the variance in end game builds around 100% freedom by the DCs.

Sad thing is the DPC was getting good for me. It was exciting to create a defense and watch how it plays out be it good or bad. With pre sets its just a matter of batting a ball. Sometimes you'll hit the right defensive play and sometimes you won't . Creativity is exciting. Not following the same boring trends. Defense will become a stagnant in pee wees. Everyone using the same defensive plays.

Everyone play pee wee ball and get rid of all the other garbage GLB introduced. pee wee ball is a blast. No cheats, no way of cheating the system. Its what season 1 and 2 was all about. Each season you start fresh. Everyone has a chance to win each and every season. I wish I could pay Bort to leave pee wee alone with the DPC, because its an entirely different game.

Any chance we could get a seperate server just for pee wee? lol I guess xbox is the next best thing. GF does want one of those nintindo things where you move and it moves.
