Nice work. Thanks for the time and effort.

The Reapers like being underestimated, so keep us low on the chart. That way we can get the 'where in the H did these guys come from and how did they beat us?' reaction.

Death is coming.

Exactly...

Yeah, I could see that.... if it weren't for the Blues being ranked below CCSM...

Comparing schedule to schedule, CCSM has had a much harder 4 games than the Blues have had. The two teams that they have beat are of course CCSM who is winless, and the Wraiths who are 1-3.

But nonetheless, a head-to-head victory, combined with--you know--not losing by 101... you'd think that would be sufficient statistical evidence to show they are better. It wouldn't matter who the other victory came against if the CCSM has gotten blown out in every game, and one of the losses being to the same team (SoYo) and the other loss being to a team that is not doing too bad, either(Warsaw). Seems like a good rough estimate of talent, but it just shows there are still obvious flaws in the system.

SoS may be big-time over-weighted. Because it really doesn't matter who you are playing if you are laying down and dying for them. Maybe a smaller modifier based on the MoV or something? Or maybe even a bonus multiplier to SoS based on a closer MoV? Not too sure what the best approach is, but I am sure the situation has come up before this one. Perhaps the original author is working on new tweaks.

But your are missing the fact that whether you lose by 40 or 240, it really doesnt make a difference if the deficit is more than 35. You are putting to much weight on a 100 point game. Math is math and numbers dont lie, over the course of the season if CCSM continues to lose do you think they will still be in the same position they are in now? Dont take one weeks results to heart, if we finish the season and they end up 0-16 and in the top 15, then there is a problem with the numbers. The way this is set up, that is not going to happen. SoS will work itself out more and more as more games are played, especially since we all play the same teams until the last week of the season. Not sure why guys arent seeing this.

Sorry my man. I can name about 3 or 4 Alpha teams that would probably handle Amsterdam.

SoYo
Arctic Blast
Transylvania
Belfast

Just my opinion though.

Your crazy! Amsterdam could work them teams! Mark my words,"Smugglers WILL win a championship this season, then we'll be in another league and we'll let the other teams have a chance!"

Honestly you can add St. Louis, Dublin, and Warsaw to my original list. Put all biases aside and look at the sheer numbers. The Alpha conference, for this year at least, is the league power. Sorry Amsterdam, you'd likely have your face melted against many of these powers.

Once again, just my opinion though

FWIW, you're overstating things a bit.

The South Yorkies are obviously more talented, with an offense averages XL 12.9 and a defense defense XL 14.2
The Smugglers average 11.8 on offense and 10.7 on defense.

That's a pretty wide talent gap.

But the Smugglers XLs hang in there fine with Belfast, St Louis, Warsaw, etc. Those are teams that could beat them, but not teams that are "likely to handle" them.

It doesn't matter, the formula isn't actually ranking teams in the conferences against each other. It's really 2 ranking lists (Alpha and Zeta) that are randomly interleaved.
