WEEK 3 RANKINGS
LION

A lot of blowouts this week with one close game thrown in and a pretty big upset.

1 Franchise (3-0) - Franchise took over the top spot last week and proved they belong there with a huge beatdown over the Demons. They jumped out to a 63-3 halftime lead by scoring on offense, defense and special teams. Dominating win that should scare the rest of the Lion conference.

2 Fulham Flying Hellfish (2-1) - They just went out and handled their business. Nothing new for this team and they have a huge game next week against #1 ranked Franchise that could have ramifications on the #1 seed down the road.

3 Carthaginian War Elephants (2-1) - Manhandled the Ospreys behind a superb ground game and domineering defense.

4 Massawa Redhorns (2-1) - Wow. Just wow. The Redhorns just got manhandled by the Pirates. They were shutout in the second half and gave up over 300 yards rushing. Not the kind of game that screams playoff worthy and there are tougher teams left to play.

5 San Francisco Demons (1-2) - The Demons have got to bounce back the next few weeks. They can get back over .500 before heading into a tough 3 game stretch against CWE, Philly and Fulham.

6 Canton Immortals (3-0) - Still cruising through their games but until they face a top team they're going to be stuck outside of the top 4 regardless of record.

7 Philly Franklins (2-1) - Philly has been getting it done the last 2 weeks. Now we see what they're really made of. In the next 6 weeks they face Massawa, CWE, SF, Canton and Fulham. Try getting out of that stretch with a winning record.

8 Sun City Undertakers (2-1) - They looked to have the win in hand as they had a 35-10 lead with only 14 minutes left to go in the game. Somehow they let Hobart jump back in this one as they gave up 21 unanswered points but they managed to hold off the comeback attempt by running out the clock.

9 Zambezi Silverbacks (2-1) - Zambezi is winning the games they should be winning and that is a step in the right direction. The next 7 weeks are going to make or break their season though as they'll face some tough playoff teams from last season, an unpredictable Somalia squad and some of the tougher new teams. They need to take at least 4 of those games to put themselves in good shape for the remaining schedule.

10 Somalia Pirates (1-2) - Muchos props to the Somalia crew for their win today over Massawa. After two rough weeks they came out and took it to a playoff team from last season. This could be a surprising team this season that outplays their level deficiency.

11 Lincoln Saints (1-2) - After 3 games we know the Saints are good but not great. They've been manhandled the last 2 weeks but they've shown enough to put faith in their ability to reach the playoffs as a low seed.

12 Hobart Tazzy Tigers (1-2) - Great effort at a comeback against Sun City but ultimately the only thing that matters is a W and they fell short.

13 Uganda Silverbacks (1-2) - Big loss for Uganda and things look bleak with CWE, SF and Fulham the next 3 weeks.

14 Newfoundland Ospreys (1-2) - The Ospreys got pushed around by CWE and with SF and Fulham up next they're looking at a 1-4 start at this rate.

15 Wheel City Dragons (0-3) - The losses are starting to pile up and this team hasn't even faced a playoff team from last season yet.

16 Kenya Diggits (0-3) - This is still one of the most enjoyable passing attacks in the league but unfortunately that's not translating to wins.

ELEPHANT
Last week it was Laos with the upset and this week it was ECS taking one over the Texans. This is going to be a very interesting season for the bottom 4 playoff spots in both conferences.

1 Sons of Anubis (3-0) - A shocking victory

2 Windhoek White Rhinos (3-0) - Came away with a solid win after controlling the clock for almost 40 minutes. They dominated the first half as they shutout BSS and put up 20 points. BSS only had one offensive TD that came in the closing seconds of the game too. While not as dominating as SoA this team is getting it done any way they can.

3 Ivory Coast Breakers (3-0) - Fantastic game by the Breakers. They jumped all over TDP through 3 quarters and took a big lead. Looking very good right now and have a favorable schedule. They could ride this undefeated streak for awhile.

4 Angola Blood Diamonds (3-0) - So far it's been easy street for ABD. That won't change anytime soon.

5 Guyana Generalissimo's (3-0) - This is how you take care of business. You win the games you should win. Nuff said.

6 Ron's Texans (2-1) - I don't know what happened here but the Texans and ECS had a hell of a defensive battle. Turnovers left and right and stingy defenses were the name of the game. The Texans could only muster 3 points and lost a huge game. These are the games you have to win if you want to make the playoffs.

7 Black Sea Sunami (1-2) - The defense is still struggling some but they've shown improvement. They need to get off the field faster and create more turnovers. The pick 6 helped them start getting back in the game and they played much better in the second half but it was too late by then.

8 The Dead Presidents (0-3) - Rough start to the season so far but this is the best 0 win team around. I've no doubt they'll start stringing together some W's very quickly and this team could easily be 12-4 at the end of the season or 9-7. They've definitely come out of the worst stretch in the schedule and have nowhere to go but up from here.

9 The African Predators (2-1) - Great win for the Predators as they took a huge lead in the first half. Defensively they got eaten up through the air but they got 4 picks that helped take them to a win.

10 Zimbabwe Rebels (0-3) - After falling behind 7-42 in the first half the Rebels tried to mount a comeback in the second half as they outscore TAP 42-14. Too little, too late though and the 4 INTs helped them lose this game.

11 MaRAWK!!o (2-1) - Thank you for winning this time and not making me look like a complete idiot.

12 Laos King Pongers (1-2) - A week after knocking down the RAWK, Laos has come back down to earth.

13 Ethiopian Camel Snackers (1-2) - First win of the season for ECS and it was a huge upset. Could this be their turning point? They still won't win many the next 5 weeks but maybe they have fight in them still.

14 A7 Nation Army (0-3) - Where are those bodybags and who were they for anyway? Things are just bad in A7 right now.

15 Kickin Djibouti (0-3) - Chemistry is a bitch. What more can I say. It's just hard to see them competing with things the way they are. - Yeah I just repeated what I said last week.

16 Las Vegas Avengers (0-3) - Just showed us how much of a disparity there is between the #1 team and the #16 team.

Dude, A7 is ranked way too low. They are 0-3, but the teams they have lost to are all 3-0. Hopefully next week we can give them a loss to a team with a loss but I'm not convinced.

Back to film!

WEEK 4 RANKINGS
LION

1 Franchise (4-0) - Huge win for Franchise and they're in the drivers seat now to finish up 16-0. In a game that saw both teams struggle to run the ball well the biggest difference was Little Glory and his 4 TD passes. Now the big question is whether or not we'll get to see a rematch in the playoffs.

2 Fulham Flying Hellfish (2-2) - It's been a long time since Fulham has opened a season 2-2. Then again they've played two of the best, if not the two best, teams in the league right now. No need for panic here though. I expect to see a few wins racked up in the coming weeks as Fulham shows that they won't be left off any discussions about who the top teams are. Even at 2-2 this is still one of the top 4 teams in the league so I won't be dropping them... this week.

3 Carthaginian War Elephants (3-1) - An easy win for CWE. Next up they'll face a strong Philly team that can't be overlooked.

4 Massawa Redhorns (3-1) - Much better performance than last week. The Redhorns were down 10-17 before they exploded in the 2nd quarter for 27 unanswered points.

5 San Francisco Demons (2-2) - Easy game for the Demons as they did what they should have done. Another performance like this next week would get them tuned up for CWE in week 6.

6 Canton Immortals (4-0) - I'm looking forward to next weeks game against Somalia. It will be the biggest challenge to date for Canton and with Massawa the next week we'll finally know how good this team really is.

7 Philly Franklins (2-2) - Philly has promise but right now they're having problems when they face top talent. Funny note, both teams finished the game with 580 offensive yards. That defensive meltdown in the 2nd quarter most likely cost them this game and they have another tough one next week.

8 Sun City Undertakers (3-1) - For another week Sun City struggled with a team they appeared to have the upperhand on. The defense got shredded through the air and this one came down to the wire as the Undertakers kept holding off the Dragons comeback.

9 Somalia Pirates (2-2) - The Pirates have found a winning method and it revolves around running the ball until their HBs can't limp off the field. A very solid win for this young team. They find ways to win games and could shock some teams this season.

10 Hobart Tazzy Tigers (2-2) - Demolished Lincoln. That won't happen next week though.

11 Zambezi Silverbacks (2-2) - The Silverbacks got shredded on the ground and this game was nowhere near as close as the score suggests as Somalia had a 38-21 lead going into the 4th.

12 Lincoln Saints (1-3) - Ouch. I wasn't expecting that kind of an outcome.

13 Uganda Silverbacks (1-3) - Just a bad game overall for Uganda. Two more weeks of this hellish stretch before they can start being competitive again.

14 Newfoundland Ospreys (1-3) - Another rough loss for the Ospreys as it's become clear that they aren't ready for the big dogs quite yet.

15 Wheel City Dragons (0-4) - There's some fight in these Dragons and they should be able to get a couple of wins this season but right now they're looking at fighting to avoid demotion.

16 Kenya Diggits (0-4) - Goodbye greatest show on turf! Good luck to all you guys, especially the ones on Sterling .

ELEPHANT
1 Sons of Anubis (4-0) - Ho hum. Another win. Maybe I should just write 16-0 right now.

2 Windhoek White Rhinos (4-0) - Look at that. I picked them to win and they won. You're welcome.

3 Ivory Coast Breakers (3-1) - Good start to the game. But the last 3 quarters were just bad as they got shutout and BSS put up 20 points.

4 Angola Blood Diamonds (4-0) - Very good win over previously undefeated Texans. When was the last time this team was 4-0? Defense played lights out and put up 21 points and this team will be in very good shape to make the playoffs with 3 teams coming up they should beat. Their fate will be in their hands.

5 Guyana Generalissimo's (3-1) - If you ignore the first and last quarters this game looked like a tense battle. But TDP racked up 19 points in the first Q alone and went on to take a 32-6 lead before the 4th. Sure Guyana tried to mount a comeback but the hole was dug too deeply. So my question has been answered. Guyana isn't as good as their record suggested BUT they put up a fight against a top team so they are improved from last season.

6 Black Sea Sunami (2-2) - Just a week after asking where there defense was I got my answer. Strong win over a good team shows that BSS is still a force and will be looking to make a run at the playoffs.

7 The Dead Presidents (1-3) - This was the start of the turnaround I've been waiting for. The RAWK could be the toughest team they face over the next month and this team should be over .500 shortly.

8 Ron's Texans (2-2) - The Texans started the season so well but now things are slipping away from them. They've got TAP next and that's an improved team but after that it's SoA, WWR and ICB. It's hard to think the Texans will emerge from that with a winning record.

9 The African Predators (3-1) - Good win over a team I know nothing about besides the fact that they haven't won many. Not going to move them up yet but if they beat the Texans they'll start creeping up the rankings.

10 MaRAWK!!o (3-1) - It came down to OT after A7 tied it up with time winding down but the RAWK did not let me down this week. Wise move.

11 Laos King Pongers (2-2) - Could be going over .500 next week when they face A7.

12 Zimbabwe Rebels (0-4) - It's painful to watch this unfold having gotten my ass kicked by this team just two seasons ago. Got to drop them even further as much as I don't want to.

13 Ethiopian Camel Snackers (1-3) - Now the hard games start. Enjoy the next 4 weeks guys.

14 A7 Nation Army (0-4) - Great effort in taking this one to OT but ultimately fell short. I predict win #1 is right around the corner though.

15 Kickin Djibouti (0-4) - If anyone needed to know how bad chemistry can affect a team, just send them here.

16 Las Vegas Avengers (0-4) - 4 games and only 18 points scored. Nope. Not going to be an easy season at all.
