I have a suggestion.

Invite the top 8 teams from each conference as of day 32 and then have them play in a single elimination tourney and the last one standing is the weiner.

You don't think seeing how the exiting times stack up against the promoting ones would be interesting? Sure it's probably not possible due to guts/offseason/roster chem, but if possible I'd still simply like to see how it went.
