Week 7 06/15/2010 Alpha Game of the Week.
As JHIK and Jagerween pointed out two big games in Alpha this week.
Lets go with Newark Knights 5-1 vs Taylor Sands Whisker Fish 5-1.
At first I was going to pick this as the game of the week. Then I started comparing the games the two have played.
Taylor Sands Whisker Fish just beat a very good team in the Lugnuts. They also went to the wire with one of the top teams in the Alpha Confence Flanigan's Ire. Both teams Fish and Knights had very weak matchups on the Zeta side week 1. So Fish really has my favor by their strength of schedule so far. The only team in common for both teams is Inland Empire Trouble, which they both won easily. I think Jack Bheleu is going to have another big game and the Fish win this one by 2 scores.
As the top two teams have another week off. The Lugnuts are really into the heart of their schedule.
So not playing any favoritism just really believe this will be the closest game of the week.
Lansing Lugnuts 4-2 vs Flanigan's Ire 5-1. This is going to be the game of the week.
My heart really wants the Lugnuts to win this one. Those tough loses like the close one to the Fish really make a team hungry!
But, being in the same league as Flanigan last season I know how good of the team they have and their pounding running attack. I really think this game will come down to a last second field goal. I am really hoping the Lugnuts come out on top.

I copied you first,lol
I do enjoy reading on both sides of the conference. So keep these going darrengd,
as you have been my motivation to do the same on my side.
I use to do write ups for the entire league a few seasons back but that was very time consuming and it was a very competitive league so damn near did a match up for almost every team.

Last season they were in the same league different conference. That was a lot of fun. I tried to get that to happen this season and support couldn't make it happen.

Before I started I thought about doing both sides, but then thought about how time consuming that would be. So very glad you stepped up to the plate to do the Zeta side.

Week 8 06/17/2010 Alpha Games of the Week.
Lets start with Newark Knights 5-2 vs Flanigan's Ire 5-2.
The Knights have had a pretty easy schedule so far. Even though their record is equal to Flanigan the game won't be. Flanigan will be firing on all cylinders after their tough lost to the Lugnuts and win this one easily.
Then French Toast Mafia 4-3 vs St. Ignatius Wildcats 2-5
French Toast has had a lot of tough teams to start out the season. Same for the Wildcats. So this should be a good match up for the week. I played with the Wildcats last season, so I would like to see them get to 500 yet before the season is done. But I am not sure this game will go in their favor.
Game of the week was pretty easy this week. The first week one of the undefeated teams has a challenge.
Taylor Sands Whisker Fish 6-1 vs Rio de Janeiro Smut Peddlers 7-0. This is going to be the game of the week.
I am going to lean towards the Fish in this one. They have played some of the tougher opponents in Alpha and won 1 and lost 1. Can the Peddlers stop Jack Bheleu? If they do, do they leave themselves up for Jake Heisman to run right by?
But maybe I am way off and John Stepp is going to look for some league recognition and put up some big numbers against the Fish? Should be another close one for Fish but they come out on top.

Man don't pick us! Keep picking the opponent bulletin board material for the Fish. We played Rio last season in our conference, by far the most entertaining game of the season. They got us by 9 I think, so I expect this one to be a squeaker either way.

You have three more tough ones coming up. I will remember that for those.
