Looks to me like you'll be entering the gauntlet.

there needs to be extra plateau seasons. i was going to post a thread of why that absolutely needs to happen. the original reasons for having the plateau be short are antiquated now with the salary cap. plus, you spend a lot of time and money to get your player peak at just the right time for what equates to a 2 season window of competing at the games highest level before the steep decline takes over.

i also believe the time between league games should be stretched to 3 days. originally, game planning was easy and there were not other things to do between game days. now the DAI and OAI are much more complex, we have ranked games and tournaments to keep the addicts going, recruiting is so much more tough and the new financial system will add a whole new level of problems. good franchises are folding as one time active owners are throwing in the towel due to lack of time.

now the attrition of good ownership has watered down the AAA and Pro levels in many leagues. in just a couple seasons there may be teams who don't make the playoffs being promoted to AAA & Pro leagues just to put bodies in the slots.

i like to game scout and feel you cannot win without it. but i do believe the time demands of games every two days, the ever growing hourly time demands of off-season recruiting and the new financial system are putting a strain on the overall health of GLB.

Completely Agree with you. I had suggested games every 3 days when he offered us flex for suggestions. Would even be up for a shorter offseason if we had games every 3 days instead. Both suggestions would be putting less money in Bort's pocketbook, but would be good for the existence of GLB. Wonder what will happen?

GRITS vs Rhinos in the Championship again?!?!?!

I've never had to play against BB... this could be interesting.

Preaching to the choir on this one, my friend. 1st I pushed for a 50 dot roster limit (make recruiting easier), got shit canned right off the bat. Then I started pushing for an extended plateau, just so teams could recruit easier. Then, it looked like there was an outside shot that we could get the 7 ssns of accelerated growth, with 4 ssns of plateau, abandoned the my extension idea and pushed for that (easier recruiting and less boring for ssns 3-8). Now that it's dead (and I believe that despite what DD is saying), I'm back on the extension thing. No clue if it will happen, but I hope so.

I also would like to see games every 3 days, buyt I seriously doubt that will ever happen. IMO, game changing things that Bort isn't eager to do needs overwhelming support to see them happen. Too many ppl want every other day games. So, I don't think it will ever happen

I don't see the off ssn shortening until the game is completely stable (if that's even possible). Bort uses that time to put in the new stuff for the following ssn and get it tested. I'm not saying that's the way I'd do it (I'd start in earnest well before then), but that's reality on most sim issues. Because of that, if anything, the offssn is too short for the good of the game.

No... It would suck it wasn't in Lion though.
Then again... having a Conference Championship in Lion and Elephant would be kind of cool.

Maybe I should call it the Waaaaaaalephant Conference.

Me thinks all this talk of WWR Championships is just a smidge premature

i totally understand. i bet the vast, vast majority of those people are not OC or DC to any teams.

i run my own business and the question i have is: when you have guys who held teams for 10 seasons with dozens of boosting players quitting, like we might with 4 or 5 africa pro teams this season, how much money is bort potentially losing over the course a 6 to 12 months?

that type of loss is hard to quantify, of course, but it is a loss.

i know some are just relinquishing control and not necessarily retiring their dots, but the handwriting is on the wall when you lose guys like that. i know if fat danny and i quit, a few or our relatives and friends will likely lose interest in a few months. at best, they definitely won't be creating as many players as some are now. it's not like we will be actively telling them to quit, it will just be a natural progression since we all started together. i am pretty sure there are quite a few others like that all over GLB.

basically, bort could care less. whatever will get him the most $$$$ for the least amount of work is all that matters ldo

if we didn't have a day between games my head would explode, and I don't even coor 100 teams like some.

a lot of people have changed their "quitting" tag to, "not buying any more flex till the game is out of beta". So i dont think as many people are quitting as everyone things. Although a lot of good teams are selling and people are for sure cutting back
