WEEK 4 RANKINGS

The Fine Four
#1 Kenya Diggits (4-0) - An easy win this week keeps Kenya at the top of the rankings. With Longreach up next Kenya is in no danger of falling yet.

#2 Nile Crocodiles (4-0) - Finally a game against a tough team and Nile did not disappoint picking up the winning TD halfway through the 4th Q. Last season Nile had a problem beating playoff teams but with this win they have shown all of Lion that the Crocs have some bite this season. Now they can coast for 2 weeks to a 6-0 start.

#3 Fulham Flying Hellfish (3-1) - Easy win over Longreach this week. Next up is Burundi. If last season is any indication then Fulham will go on to a 4-1 record before facing off against Kenya and then Nile.

#4 West Yorkshire Bandits (3-1) - Complete and utter domination of Burundi.

The Muddled Middle
#5 Nairobi Death Squad (2-2) - Back to back losses hurt Nairobi in the standings this week. Both losses were by 2 points so the Death Squad has got to be scratching their heads right now trying to figure out how to stop the turnover bug that's bitten them.

#6 Sterling Bulldawgs (3-1) - Easy win for the Bulldawgs as they wrap up a 3 week bye-week tour. Next up they face off against the team that bounced them out of the first round last season.

#7 Zimbabwe Bulls (3-1) - The Bulls could be the weakest of the 3 win teams so far. Nile was their only challenge so far and things won't change for a few weeks. They should coast to a 5-1 record before things get tougher for them.

#8 Burundi Bucsh Warriors (2-2) - Tough loss for the Warriors as they got shutout and dominated. With Fulham, Sterling & Kenya the next 3 weeks Burundi can not afford to drop all 3 games or they'll be in serious jeopardy of missing the playoffs.

Outsiders Looking In
#9 West Nile Mosquitoes (1-3) - West Nile fell hard to the Bulls and need to turn things around against the Zoners next week.

#10 Colonial Zoners (1-3) - The Zoners pick up their first win of the season in dominating fashion. If they can beat West Nile they should coast to a 4-3 record before things toughen up again.

Nowhere Close
#11 Alexandria Crimson Evil Aces (1-3) - They beat Lyon. Woot.

#12 Lyon Flames (1-3) - They lost. Who cares.

#13 Longreach Wildcats (1-3) - Blowout loss.

#14 Hungry Hungry Hippos (0-4) - Blowout loss.

#15 Patagonia Punishers (0-4) - Blowout loss.

#16 Algeria Dune Hoppers (0-4) - Blowout loss.

Yeah, Coastiemike always comes up with a tough squad. Only good thing in this loss for us is that we found an AI screw up in our FG set up.

Well I could give a whole run around about how neither team has beaten a quality opponent and that West Nile moved ahead last week since they won and Colonial lost. And the Colonials win this week was against a crap opponent so I didn't feel a need to move them just yet.

But the biggest reason Colonial is still under West Nile is that you guys play each other this week. Since the winner of that game will get ranked over the loser I decided to hold off until this week to move either team. I think Colonial will take the game and start moving up the rankings a little so patience young grasshopper.

WEEK 5 PREDICTIONS
GAME OF THE WEEK

Sterling vs West Yorkshire
Big game for both teams. Last season they faced off twice. Sterling took the first game by a landslide but the Bandits came back in the playoffs and took home a 7 point win in the game that mattered most. Will that pattern reemerge this season or will the Bandits get the upper hand again. Sterling has yet to beat a tough team so they could use a win here to show they are legitimate again this season. The same could be said for the Bandits though as both teams have had an easy 3 weeks leading up to this game. Sterling may have a slight chemistry edge but will that prove to be enough to overcome the Bandits this time around or will the Bandits prove true to name and steal a win.

Fulham vs Burundi
Fulham took this game last season easily and I don't see things turning out any differently this season.

Lyon vs Patagonia
The battle for CPU supremacy continues and I bet no one cares. Patagonia will get burned in this one.

Colonial vs West Nile
TDiddy has made it clear to the writers that he feels his team has been slighted in the rankings. Will he take his frustrations out on West Nile to prove once and for all that the Zoners don't belong in the bottom half of the rankings? One things for sure, the Zoners won't need to work too hard to swat down these Mosquitoes.

Zimbabwe vs Alexandria
Bye week.

Nairobi vs Algeria
Bye week.

Hungry vs Nile
Bye week.

Longreach vs Kenya
Bye week.

WEEK 5 RANKINGS

The Fine Four
#1 Kenya Diggits (5-0) - Bye week leads to win as expected. After a nice rest period Kenya gets to face a good opponent this week in Fulham.

#2 Nile Crocodiles (5-0) - Bye week doesn't change much. With Kenya facing Fulham this week one has to imagine that the Crocs are rooting for the Hellfish so they can take the #1 spot.

#3 Fulham Flying Hellfish (4-1) - Utter demolition of Burundi keeps Fulham at #3 this week. With 2 big games coming up they'll need to play smart football to stay in top 4 though.

#4 West Yorkshire Bandits (4-1) - The Bandits take down Sterling once again. Behind a stellar return game that netted them 14 points they came from behind and took a 10 point lead going into the 2nd half.

The Muddled Middle
#5 Nairobi Death Squad (3-2) - Bye week win keeps them static in the rankings. Easy schedule will keep them here until someone drops out of top 4.

#6 Sterling Bulldawgs (3-2) - Tough loss for the Bulldawgs. They'll have a little time to bounce back from this one but right now they are not looking good this season.

#7 Zimbabwe Bulls (4-1) - The Bulls are still riding out their easy stretch of the schedule. After next week they'll get to show what they're made of against the Bandits.

#8 Colonial Zoners (2-3) - The Zoners take down West Nile hard and move up the rankings. They'll be 4-3 before you know it and then start playing some quality teams again.

Outsiders Looking In
#9 Burundi Bucsh Warriors (2-3) - Another tough loss for the Warriors is not putting a good outlook on their season at this point.

#10 West Nile Mosquitoes (1-4) - Blowout loss.

Nowhere Close
#11 Lyon Flames (2-3) - Woo a win.

#12 Alexandria Crimson Evil Aces (1-4) - Blowout loss.

#13 Longreach Wildcats (1-4) - Blowout loss.

#14 Hungry Hungry Hippos (0-5) - Blowout loss.

#15 Patagonia Punishers (0-5) - CPU loss.

#16 Algeria Dune Hoppers (0-5) - Blowout loss.

Week 6 Predictions
GAME OF THE WEEK

Kenya vs Fulham
Fulham looks to have improved tremendously this season as they face off against the upstarts from Kenya that are taking the conference by storm. In a week that sees a ton of crap games this could be the only one worth watching.

Algeria vs Hungry
Both teams are still looking for that elusive first win.

Alexandria vs Colonial
Bye week.

Patagonia vs Zimbabwe
Bye week.

Burundi vs Sterling
Two teams still looking for a quality win. Sterling has hung in there better than the Warriors to this point.

Nile vs Longreach
Bye week.

West Nile vs Nairobi
Bye week.

West Yorkshire vs Lyon
Bye week.

WEEK 6 RANKINGS

The Fine Four
#1 Kenya Diggits (6-0) - Kenya does it again to remain undefeated in a nail biter of a game. After falling behind 6-7 in the first Kenya exploded in the second quarter and took a 16-7 lead. Fulham closed in with a TD to make it 16-14 before picking off Roberts for a TD that gave them a 16-21 lead going into the second half. Kenya had problems on offense with no run support whatsoever but somehow managed to retake the lead with 2 FGs in the 3rd that would prove to be the winning points of the game as both teams were shut out in the 4th quarter. A great win by Kenya as they've now closed out 2 very close games (one by 1 point and the other by 2 points). They can relax a little next week against Burundi but then they take off for Nile to face what will probably be another undefeated team in a battle for 1st place.

#2 Nile Crocodiles (6-0) - Nile has been a dominant force this season and the next 2 weeks will be very important for them. First up they get Fulham and after that Kenya. If they beat Fulham they will be fighting for the #1 seed against Kenya before heading on a 5 week stretch of easy games.

#3 Fulham Flying Hellfish (4-2) - You couldn't have asked for a better game of the week then we got this week. Fulham did everything they could to come away with a win. They ran decently and won the possession battle but they couldn't stop Kenya from making the comeback as they fell in a 1 point loss. With Nile up next things don't get any easier. But following that game they hit a soft schedule for 4 weeks.

#4 West Yorkshire Bandits (5-1) - The Bandits are resting up this week as they face the Bulls. The Zoner should not be overlooked though with Nairobi on tap following that game. This is a prime time for the Bandits to creep up the rankings.

The Muddled Middle
#5 Nairobi Death Squad (4-2) - Cruising through their blowout series for another 2 weeks before they face off against the Bandits.

#6 Sterling Bulldawgs (4-2) - Another team cruising through a stretch of easy games. They won't be challenged for another few weeks.

#7 Zimbabwe Bulls (5-1) - With the easy schedule out of the way the Bulls will now get to show if they deserve to move up the rankings or not. The Bandits & Bulldawgs will both be looking to stay on pace for a playoff spot so the next 2 weeks will be do or die time for the Bulls. Funny thing to say about a team that's 5-1 but with all 5 wins being blowouts they have yet to prove themselves and with 6 games remaining against tough teams they could find themselves missing a playoff spot because of tie breakers.

#8 Colonial Zoners (3-3) - The Zoners are facing the same problem as the Bulls. All wins against crap teams. They get one more easy win before the true tests begin.

Outsiders Looking In
#9 Burundi Bucsh Warriors (2-4) - The Warriors are just at too much of a disadvantage to get a win against playoff teams this season. With a strong nucleus they should contend next season though as long as they can keep their players on the roster.

#10 West Nile Mosquitoes (1-5) - Blowout loss.

Nowhere Close
#11 Lyon Flames (2-4) - Blowout loss.

#12 Alexandria Crimson Evil Aces (1-5) - Blowout loss.

#13 Longreach Wildcats (1-5) - Blowout loss.

#14 Algeria Dune Hoppers (1-5) - 1st win of the season.

#15 Hungry Hungry Hippos (0-6) - Another loss.

#16 Patagonia Punishers (0-6) - Blowout loss.

Week 7 Predictions
GAME OF THE WEEK

Fulham vs Nile
Big game for Fulham this week. After dropping a close one last week they're facing off against the Crocodiles this week, another undefeated team. After taking Kenya to the limit can Fulham get over the hump and beat a quality opponent this season? The Crocs have been a dominating force this season and look to make another statement before they face Kenya next week. A win here makes next weeks match a battle for 1st place for added motivation. This season has looked like it's all up for grabs with some close games between all potential playoff teams so this should be another good one. In the end I think Fulham falls short this week though.

Longreach vs Algeria
A game of no importance.

Hungry vs West Nile
Should be an easy win for the Mosquitoes.

Zimbabwe vs West Yorkshire
The Bulls have closed up shop so add another gimme game to the season for all teams who haven't played them yet.

Lyon vs Sterling
Bye week.

Kenya vs Burundi
Bye week.

Colonial vs Patagonia
Bye week.

Nairobi vs Alexandria
Bye week.

Yet another week with only one good game. Everyone getting bored this season yet?
