Macalln 18 is nice..... never been a fan of Talisker..... Glenlivet 15 is nice I prefer a more smokey taste.

Got a bottle under the bar right now...Highland Park 18 is unbelievable for the price...great great single malt.

As far as Talisker goes I prefer the 10 to the 18, and I agree with you that usually I like some thing a bit more smokey than the Glenlivet, but the 15 year French Oak is pretty solid and a little better than the rest.

finally this thread took a turn for the better. I am not much of a scotch drinker, but i will be checking out some of the ones listed here shortly.

As for tequila:

El Tesoro Anejo Paradiso is my favorite. A bit pricey for regular consumption.

I always keep Patron Anejo in the house to kill the edge.

I can tell you this the Highland Park 18 is amazing for the price. I like it better than the 25 myself.

Might have to try the Talisker again. Just last few times I have had it not been one I liked as well. Also like the Glenfiddich Cask Strength. That has that nice smokey note with the heavier peat flavoring.

its actually about great alcohol now. we cannot let the commoners bring in their thoughts on bud, jose cuervo and such.

Cuervo is just a well liquor with strong marketing.. imo

I'm a HUGE fan of the Bacardi Black. I know it isn't the best rum in the world, but it mixes with Coke soooooooo nice. I think I'll have some tonight!

THANK YOU...I feel like that is a huge secret...most people go superior and coke which is too dry tasting. The black is perfect with it.

In fact when I visited the Bacardi Factory in Puerto Rico they said that the Black was the best for cola.

They also had a 12 year old Reserva Limitada that was only available in their gift shop (of course I had to buy it) and it is phenomenal just straight up.
