i just wanted to add a different perspective to this conversation.

how much should one boost at the beginning of the season? most teams boosted right away last year, while Renosa waited until the playoffs. That resulted in making it to the championship.

There is a theory that all you have to do to make the playoffs is finish top 8 or whatever, so it doesn't take a whole lot of effort for a good team to do that. That's why some teams wait until the playoffs. Levelling gets slower as you get higher, so the idea is you do the hard yakka early and use the freebies on the slowest levels you'll hit during the season. It's more efficient that way.

That all said, we boosted fairly early and didn't wait for the playoffs. Starting late season 1 and going 0-8 meant we had to turn that round in hurry to be competitive.

We still sucked for the first half of the season, so had to get other things right. Also, just because someone is a higher level, doesn't necessarily mean their build is any better. It's most important to get your builds right, and match your tactics to the players you have.

I would argue that Renosa wouldn't be one of the best teams in this conference this year, nor were they last year. I'm not sure what gave, but the best teams didn't represent either division last year in the championship game, and yes, that's after boosting.

On paper, both of the divisions represented teams didn't match up as the best.

i agree bong...i wouldn't have picked those 2 to win it...but i guess they proved that talent and being better or weaker...doesn't always win the ball games...with that said i ain't making any predictions...as for us we have yet to get that big game win when the time comes...2 years in a row we had it in our sights and couldn't capitalize...but i guess if the better team was always supposed to win...then the game would be boring

Couple of things I want to correct on this thread about reynosa

First, I boosted all of my guys after the first game. We lost that game, and at the time I didn't think they were one of the top teams. As it turned out, the team that we lost to had one of the top 2 seeds at the end of the year. I had one or two guys on my team that waited till the end of the year to boost.

As for being the best team in the conference last year, it doesn't matter. You just have to get to the playoffs and win the games that count. And then you get tell everyone else that you're better then them.

This conference will continue to get tougher every year. As long as the owners of the teams continue to come back. If there is a big influx of people selling there teams, then i guess it will just depend on the new owners. But yes this league looks alot tougher this year. I'm glad I got out when I did. 5 teams in each conference look like they could make it out of this league, and only one gets to go. It will probably be tougher next year as well.

Good luck to everyone
