So Sparta Battle Chickens get to stay here but not a team like MEM?

Whatever. Seriously though, if anything MEM has as strong a case to be a 3rd team promoted up from USAPL as Sparta does for staying up here after missing the playoffs.

MEM's good. It's quite possible they're better than Sparta. But if it's all the same to you, I think an 8-8 WL team that missed the playoffs by four points playing in the tougher of the two conferences is more deserving than a USA Pro team that went 14-2. If MEM had been 15-1 with just the Shockers losses, I'd call it a push or even favor MEM. As its stands, I think Sparta merits the standing of first-among-equals.

Eh, I think a team that was here deserves to stay here if a spot opens up unexpectedly. I think Monmouth's bigger gripe may be that I think we had a similar situation last season and yet an extra team got promoted and they didn't get to stay. Or is my mind playing tricks on me?

that's why they have a case here. otherwise I agree, Sparta was here, they'd deserve to stay more. Also MEM finished 9-7, with a winning record, after starting what, 2-7?

ya...gotta admit...MEM does kind of seem to be getting shafted on the deal...

Hey MEM, sorry, no disrespect meant to you guys from Sparta...you guys do have a solid team. I'm sorry it didn't work out that way for yall...

if you pick MEM over the best non-playoff WL team, you're setting a dangerous precedent. there will always be teams gutting, always be teams declining, and you're just opening the door for whiny bitches every season to say "mem got picked to go to the WL, why not me, my team is soooo great too, we just are in a tough conference."

I thought MEM could have stayed up here last season like Sparta is now. Maybe it was something slightly different, like a lot of teams somewhere turning down promotion, but either way I don't think anyone is disagreeing here that the best thing is to keep a WL team up here first.

I'm not saying they should be here because of what they did this season. They just didn't do anything this season to make it look like keeping them here would have been a bad idea. No one is basing this off of Season 14.

I think Sparta is staying because Warsaw (a WL playoff team) gutted, not because a team declined promotion.

mucho complicado, and bort would do well to set up some guidelines for gutting/demoting team replacements as this problem isnt goign to just go away.

Thanks Merc...But, if we don't earn it we don't want it. EVER. We are one of the few teams in GLB that EARNED every promotion they got by actually winning a trophy. Not like it is today where a 4th place team sneaks into a pro league because of gut jobs. So, we wouldn't want to get back up here through the back door. We'll see you all next year.
