Yes, I will go there. Especially since my counterpart on page 1 just told you that no one really gets pwned in a 17-16 game. It would be closer to say that he pwned you than Bikini Atoll pwned Tonga. If so, I call a rare double pwnage. I'd have used the word "pwnage" or some variant thereof in my first sentence too if I could've found some way to work it in.

Face it, you underestimated the Mushroom Clouds just as you overrated yourselves in the "power rankings". The Mushroom Clouds have been modest in accepting their win, but at the end of the day they were 1-0 and Tonga was 0-1.

We certainly took the Bandits seriously inspite of any power rankings post and created our gameplan accordingly. Please, go ahead and continue downplaying the game one victories in an effort to minimize your game one loss. Don't look too far ahead of Coney Island or you just may find yourselves at 0-2.

The one thing we can all agree on is that Melbourne is the team to beat in this conference. From there I think power rankings are murky as there are several solid teams.

I joke a lot (as you all can see in these forums), and I try to be civil in most things. I hope below will be as civil as it possibly can be.

If you'd take a look at my numerous other posts in this forum, you'd plainly see that I admitted as much myself. Perhaps, this one: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=347617&page=last#2796537. And here, I'd make a joke about triple-pwnage, but I'll move on. I had never had any conversation with you at any other time in my life, and you jump into this fray and talk unwarranted smack about my team losing to Bikini Atoll, just because I made a snappy retort to a comment about the Horsemen being 1-1 after week 2 (which was meant as a joke, hence the face). In fact, after your first arrogant response, I tried again to make a joke and shake it off (if it did not come across as such, I apologize, for I understand how it could be misinterpreted). Yet, you seem to be rather persistent in showing a certain dislikable pseduo-machismo. Let me set it out clearly here, so as for it to never be in doubt again. Yes, we lost. One point, 17-16. Should've been more cautious of Bikini Atoll. Carve it in stone. They had our number. If there's one thing, my coaching staff learned FAR more from that loss than they would have had we won, and I'm dead serious. I feel confident in our tactics heading into the Coney Island game. We'll do our talking on the field, and I'm confident we'll back up the ranking of second/third Sarg gave us, even when it now seems absurd. Not talking smack, but I have confidence in my team this game.

In all seriousness, you're doing far too much smack talking to not be the top dog in this league. Of course, this does not apply to the other Horsemen GMs, who have been nothing but class acts in this post. Only Melbourne should feel comfortable enough to talk like you've been doing. Scapino above me is right. It's a long season. At least 16 regular season games, and more meaningful ones for the top teams in this league. Let's just play the games. We'll meet on June 26th, and we'll settle this.

And this is the very last sentence I'll post in this thread, unless asked a question or provoked again.

Hmmm...maybe this one rings a bell: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=347617&page=last#2796537. (Triple pwned?) I hadn't said anything in this world to you, and you jump into this fray and talk crap about my team losing to Bikini Atoll, just because I made a snappy retort to a comment about the Horsemen being 1-1 after week 2. Yes, we lost. One point. Carve it in stone. Whoop-dee-do. They had our number. If there's one thing, my coaching staff learned a lot more from that loss than they would have had we won. I read your other post before and you talked about how you should have boosted your kicker blah blah blah and in your earlier posts you describe your loss as unlucky. As far as smack talk goes, my general point to make it more clear for you to understand is that after Melbourne there are a lot of teams that match up pretty evenly.

I think it is safe to presume that we all have confidence in our teams. So once again my general point is that the power rankings are meaningless. It is great to declare yourselves #2 in the power rankings, but they don't mean anything unless you win. I would hardly say that questioning any of this equates to smack talk, but rather calls into question the basis for how it is created. I have not made any declarations of victory in any of my posts.

Yes it is a long season and we will get a chance to face off later. So we just have to let the season unfold and see how we end up.

I'll be short.

Frankly, I was a little stunned by the loss at first. That's most likely why I thought that if my player had boosted, we might've had a better chance. My kicker went 3/3 on FGs and nailed his only extra point, so I don't know how much boosting would've done. There were a couple of things in the SIM I wish I could've changed, but one play doesn't determine the outcome of a game.

I say we let this water go under the bridge, and move on.

that game could of gone either way imo. i wouldnt judge that game either way aside of two really good teams giving it all out. i thought we "game-planeed" a little better and tonga had a little better team at the time but thats the outcome. we'll meet again and it could go either way. Tonga has a powerful roster. we were down our best WR and RB that game as well so i cant wait till we meet up later. will be another close game

Agreed. Just about like you all, we were down our best HB as well, along with a C and OT. Man, I'd love to meet again in the playoffs this season. Best of luck to you all today, and best of luck to everyone.

back on thread topic, I think it is fair to say for now that this was not the rivalry game

Seriously though, to the Horsemen, you guys have a solid foundation there. Your run defense was superb and really made us play a one-dimensional game while picking up short runs here and there, a lot in the second half to run down the clock. Your power running game ran into a very strong front 7, not something you will see on a game-to-game basis, and your passing game wasn't able to compensate.

I wouldn't want to face you guys with any other team in the league but my own.

Melbourne played a great game.

We had some positives though:
We forced 3 fumbles (Unfortunately Melbourne recovered them)
We hurried the QB a few times.
We did minimize your running game through 3 quarters, but your QB's were more than up to the task connecting with the slot receiver 11 times for 2 TD's.
Lastly we got 12 pancakes, but not enough to get the running game on track.

We were within scoring range 2x, but the PD's from your corners and some dropped passes did not help.

I don't see anyone being able to stop you guys this year.

AHHHHHHHHHH time to eat some crow I spose. (But only a small helping please) I was impressed with the way you completely shut down our running game. (won't even call it an attack today) My hat's off to your entire team sir. We shall meet again on a different day, different battlefield and yes a different outcome.

Now that thats done:

Take a good look Tonga, I don't expect to make the same speach twice this year.(Oh and I haven't forgot you others who plan to make our season Hell, you know who you are. We're keepin an eye on a few of yas tryin to stay under the radar. Good luck and take a number we'll be (finished) with you soon.

Good Game Melbourne.

Next time we meet it wont be as easy.
4 level starter average was just too much to overcome.
Thats 32 SP per starting player on average.

Good game though, look forward to doing it again

Thank you sir may I have another!!!

Haha, and it'll me my job to make sure that you do .

You just ran into a brick wall there, Horsemen. 31-0 is nothing to hang your head about; it definitely wasn't a blow out. And as far as not scoring goes, there's not going to be very many teams that do score on Melbourne this year.

This game will definitely be one our staff revisits as we draw near the 26th. Best of luck to both teams; I hope we three all are part of the conference final four.
