2. WWR - 2 League Championships 3 Conference Championships
3. DD - 2 APL Championships, 1 AAA Championship, 1 AA Championship
4. Dakar - 1 APL Championship, good WL success
5. ASM - 1 APL Championship, 2 Conference Championships, Only the second team to have a perfect season
6. TLGoT - 1 APL Championship, 3 Conference Championships (APL, AAA, AA)
7. DesWK - 1 APL Championship, constant playoff success
8. GRitS - Tons of playoff and league success, still needs to finish it off
9. SLS - Great team that always fell behind LOL/TLGoT/DD
10. Cameroon Outlaws - 1 APL Championship, could have had more but packed up to win elsewhere

Leaving the Boston Dogs out is a serious mistake! Dakar has been the most successful in World League so I'd call them the best team!

GRiTs don't deserve to be in there, we have always been competitive up in APL and have never missed the playoffs in the history of the franchise, but I would agree, The Boston Dogs are more deserving given the fact they have won it all. In our own defense, the GRiTs are not a slow build and have had to compete with DD, Dakar, Boston who I believe are all slow builds. Having to face LOL and TLGoT in their prime was no easy task either...

Oh and on another note, this thread is for the Week Two Top 10, get the hell out with your boring historical rankings!

Sorry for the hijack rj ... maybe I should have started a new thread, but the post on not recognizing any names inspired it.

I think depending on how you try to make an "all-time" APL ranking list GRitS has its merit on the list. If you are going for best single season teams (or WL success or some other non-APL factor) someone like the Boston Dogs & Dakar has more value. However, if you are going for a total APL resume making several conference finals over 6, 7, 8, 9+ seasons probably signifies more "greatness" than a team that was only here 1 season.

yup, it's clear that I can't read. ftr, I don't think Boston is slow built either.

Your excuse for losing to us has switched from bad playoff sim to slow building. I'm just going to start keeping a tally for why your team fails every season. The truth is that you guys had far superior players when Dakar faced you, but your coordinators game planning was putrid. Seriously, it was like game planning against a minor league team. You've also never played Boston in a post-season game, so I'm not sure what they have to do with anything.

I can't support Chugga's list simply because SISW isn't even mentioned

While we were here and focused, we could pretty much beat anyone(except ABD in the IC game, for whatever reason).

GM you must be bored today because my comment was I believed the 3 of you were slow builds. For the intellectually challenged I'll help you to understand that means I do not know if you are slow build or not. See I know that DD was, but not sure that either of you were or were not, hence believed. As far as game planning, I guess you are right, in two games you scored 27 points so our defensive coordinator is awful. Oh, and our OC that season was Kalkmanc and we all know how bad he is, you know having beat you the last two times you played MoD. Oh and just to prove that you are a moron, we played Boston and beat them the same season Dakar beat us in the playoffs. Go away now, you have proved your stupidity for the day!

Boston should get consideration (They were Champs)... Its just hard for me to judge this second wave of teams. To me, it was like the AAA were all battling each other in the Pros cause 7 out of those "top 10 teams" listed all retired before they got moved up (only ones here were GRiTs, DesWK & Rhinos who played in the Lion Championship game *Rhinos were gone 1 season in WL*). If those teams wouldn't have broken up and kept on trucking, these new teams would have had a lot tougher time winning Championships. I'm not saying Boston or Darkar (who disowned APL) wouldn't have won the Championship... just think it would have been a much different league.

SISW was one of the 2 or 3 games I had circled every season...

And I laughed at that idea. We have nothing that would make anyone actually believe we were a slow built team. Typically those teams are built on the same day or close to it, sometimes have a theme to their names, etc. So, intellectually challenged would be the person who "believes" things based on no evidence whatsoever.

Not going into this but our first game was thrown on purpose and the 2nd one, we punted twice. Yup, 2 times, despite playing a team that was quite superior dot-wise at the time.

When the fuck did we play MoD twice? I know kalkman quite well, and I'm fairly certain he wasn't OCing you guys back then. I'm like 99% certain, but I can PM him if you want. That said, terrible might not be that accurate, complacent is probably a more fair assesertion.

Um, we played Boston in the first round and eliminated them. You guys played Kickin'. So either you're talking about during the regular season (which would be quite funny considering I said you never played them in the post-season), or you're hilariously wrong while calling someone stupid and a moron.

You got me on the Dogs one, you are correct you played them and we played Kickin so I guess the moron torch is passed from you to me. Maybe I am wrong but don't you play MoD in the WPL? Don't back track on the comment though, send your PM to Kalk and ask if he OC'd our team that season. When he says he did, tell him I said he sucks too and add him to the list of why we lost to Dakar! Our OC that season was what did you call it, putrid! I don't really know him at all, having just played on a few teams with him and having a RB on his slow build team. I don't think we have spoken once through PM, just some sort of magic that we ended up on the same team....Seriously though, are you this bored today or was there no other forum to troll?

While those teams were signifying their greatness in APL, the Dogs were playing much higher leveled competition in AA and AAA slowly making their way up.. The majority of our roster is the same as our expansion year in cap 13. I think a lot of it has to do with who got a bit of a head start. We didn't hit our competitive peak until just a few games ago.
