yeah they actually benefited by Dakar staying in WPL, it was a win win, I think the first season when the one and only DD Doinit got demoted they had the talent to stay and go far in the playoffs.

Maybe teams who win pro should have to play the demoted teams from the botton half of the WPL that came from their region to get in the WPL.

Interesting idea in theory. But the timeline to get to WL if starting from scratch is so tight, it wouldn't be fair to hold back a young team that wins pro in season X when they might be worse than the demoting team that season but a lot better due to aging at the end of season X+1.

It also wouldn't generally be fair to leave a team in the WL that just got their shit kicked in over their old league's (willing) champion.
