If anyone doesn't know that, please exit to the left

What makes this site a lot of fun is building rivalries and getting to know the teams you'll be playing against and competing with - then watching as some leave for greener pastures (in this case, AAA) and wanting the others to follow so you can renew those old rivalries.

What makes this site lose its luster is gossip, bitching, complaining or anything else done behind someone's back. We're men (or some boys - apologies to any females in here, just getting a point across) playing football damnit, even if it is online and everything is run by simulation! I personally get stoked for every game and watch the PBP on the edge of my seat - and I expect some of you are the same way.

So, this thread is here to air any issues that come up - get it off your chest and talk it out (or yell it out, whatever works) - or better yet, PM the person you have a beef with and talk it out. Just don't resort to talking behind each others backs, it just creates resentment and sucks the fun out of the game.

Now, let's take it to the gridiron and pound the rock baby!

Melbourne-Tonga
This league's first rivalry, baby.

Done. Forget OSU V UM, Cowboys V Redskins, Yankees V Red Sox, Lakers V Celtics, Duke V UNC, Army V Navy, UCLA V USC, Dodgers Giants, I could go on, but you got the point five minutes ago.

The new greatest rivalry in sports is born; Melbourne Thorny Devils V Tonga Thunderbirds!

Tonga sucks, you can't hold our jocks!

OSU v UM? FSU v UM has been more of a rivalry over the last 20 years. The best NFL rivalry of the last decade has been New England v the Colts.

Lol Pats Colts the greatest rivalry of the decade? They definitely have not played against each other enough in the last 10 years to be considered one of the greatest rivalries, especially considering the pats were terrible for 98,99, and the first half of 2000.

Also its all about Tonga, cant wait to see the thorny devils cry.

First of all, the rivalries I mentioned are about long abiding hatred over decades, not the last few years obviously.

Secondly, that is some big smack talk for a 1-1 team, you did see what happened to the last guys to think they could hang with Melbourne didn't you?

Yes, I saw. Bravo, here's a cookie .

We're not the Four Horsemen. We're the Tonga Thunderbirds. Yes, we're 1-1. But I'd be willing to make a friendly wager that we're going to better .500. Call it a gut feeling.

Melbourne's good, but not unbeatable. Example: Season 2 for Cobra Kai in South America Pro. We're going to hit them with everything we got. It may not be good enough, but if it isn't, we can live with that.

There's going to be some fireworks flying on Independence Day. I can't wait.

Best of luck to you! May not need all of it, but you got it anyway.
Of course, I'd love to have you undefeated when we come to town.
But again, that's a few moons from now.

No, I don't try to pick fights. I'm fairly non-confrontational IRL, and I've debated not posting here for the confrontations that I've recently fell into.
If you'd look elsewhere, I've wished many teams (including yours) the best of luck more than once, and I mean that sincerely. In addition another thread I tried to give you all a little pick-me-up (second post from the bottom): http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=380325&page=2.

You also quoted me out of context. I was directly responding to the comment "sxewesley" made that stated: "Secondly, that is some big smack talk for a 1-1 team, you did see what happened to the last guys to think they could hang with Melbourne didn't you?". I meant the statement that I wrote to read as literally as possible, without any veiled agenda. My team is not your team. We are two different teams with two different coaching staffs with two different philosophies. We're likely going to play different styles (at the very least, partly) against Melbourne. The only two things we share in common in GLB are the desire to win and the goal of winning a league championship. I hope that clarified any misunderstanding.

Again, I'll wish you all the best of luck. I look forward to our game on the 26th, for I know you'll give us everything we can handle. Back to scouting Tasmania, for now.
