Mr. Moose has been one of my favorite OPL owners. We give each other shit and also give each advice when we needed it. Best of luck the rest of the way.

I hope this doesn't mean a full drop down and reset....
I know recruiting can be a bitch but.... after season 12 I only had 14 people on my roster and today I like my team at 54 players.... I think I am pretty solid in every position for just picking up players most of which I did not even know before this season.....
Sure I also have a farm team that I may bring over next season, (if we don't go to the World League), but I think its a lot easier to recruit for Pro teams than you guys are thinking....

It's still an ass-whip even when you are relatively successful, some people just have a better knack for it.

It's all networking imo. I hate recruiting with a passion, especially after going 4-12 as I found out after this season. We were lucky to have ties to good agents who could fill spots quickly.
The amount of time it takes to recruit one dot if you don't know the agent is just ridiculous.

Of course, I learned the value of networking early, but on the off-hand chance you have to go outside the network(s) seeking FAs it is a royal PITA.

Yeah, it wasn't a problem getting players on Samoa for me. We had like 10 guys at the start off the offseason, and were back up to 53 people by the first preseason game.
For me, it was a combination of a lack of determination to continue chasing the moving target, a lack of desire for stress and...yeah. I'm going into my last semester of grad school in the Spring semester, and will have even less time to help my coordinators out, who were also busy. Not to mention, I need this Christmas Break to destress, and GLB can be a very stressful thing. When faced with the choice of letting Samoa have a down season and possibly returning to run the team after that, or just selling...I chose to make the choice that I and a couple of friends all felt was the right one. I hate burning the guys that I did recruit, and I hated doing this to the people who don't get to go out on top with a pro team. Not to mention, I made a bad call in thinking an underlevelled O Line would be able to hang -- I didn't forsee the levels being a huge difference. I expected SOME decreased performance, but not to the level we had. While I could have recovered and recruited a new O line (an option I considered), it would have destroyed chemistry and been just as harmful to the team. The decision to close up shop after that long of ownership wasn't easy, but I'm already actually not dreading the daily log in to GLB, and am starting to enjoy it again. So it does help.
As I've said, I'm not disappearing from the game, and will likely latch on with some team here in O-Pro (I'm talking with a couple of Zeta teams as it is).

Moose.... you obviously have your priorities straight....
Get your school done... this game will still be here.... (I hope).... and next time you will have the advantage of already owning one of the most respected teams in GLB....
