There have been some big changes to the sim and massive changes with the new vets. Even though I pushed hard for the pass rushing buff, I knew that change wouldn't compliment our team at all. Our OL is built to run blk and our current DL, with one exception, isn't built to get a lot of pressure. Some teams will be helped, others hurt. I'd do it again (the pass rush desperately needed a buff, anyway you look at it), but we're in the hurt end on that one.

Brain damaged laughing man aside (sorry, I just think that's fucking retarder and already old and stale), after what I've seen so far, I'd now be surprised if we make the POs. Our old timer dots just don't match up well. I think we'll get a few Ws that we shouldn't, but I'm thankful as hell that we're just biding time for a couple ssns. I just feel bad for some of the new dots I brought in.

Chemistry is fucking HUGE. Trust me. I've been there.

Season 8, we went 8-8 in AA. Lost the first 4 games, should have won at least 3 of them.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?season=8&team_id=5167

Towards the end of the season, we lost by 5 to KD, who went 15-1 that season, and we missed the playoffs. By the end of the season, we were most definitely a strong playoff contender, but we couldn't make it in due to our early season chemistry losses.

Well, right now we're taking a 3% hit, but that really isn't going to get better for most of the team. As our chem improves, a bunch of our dots keep declining. I'd hoped to win enough games early so that we could lose a few at the end, in an effort to get a little PO $. We'll most likely miss out on that PO $, but that's OK. I think this ssn will be a blast. We'll actually have to work our asses off to get the Ws. I enjoy that. Besides, we were never going to win out this ssn anyway.

Here's to a fun ssn!

Without a doubt team chemistry is a killer.

Take the Sea Wolves from last season for instance...
From Season 9 to Season 11 they had a combined record of 42-6! Then last season, they prepared for retiring dots, brought in new recruits (had a good team, I was on it and saw it), took a big chemistry hit and ended up with a 5-11 record. The coordinators had some time restraints, but they definitely had a better team then their record shows and in the end (I believe) it all came down to team chemistry.

It will definitely be an interesting season. The sim is a bit crazy... and I wouldn't be surprised if one of the new teams that everyone is overlooking fits the sim and kicks some ass. No excuses, the Rhinos will try to adjust accordingly.

You did a great job with that research into the pass rushing dynamic..

I think the Dogs only losing season was after a chemistry hit.

LOL....Honestly, I was disappointed that your response wasn't just the "brain damaged laughing man," without a single word. I thought that would have been a very good one.

WWR shouldn't have any issues in the least. No doubt, you haven't assigned your SPs yet and are poised to take advantage of the sim changes. At the same time, you are conducting very well organized vet tests (as all good, well organized teams are). No disrespect to any other team here, but you're my hands down pick to take the Lion, and I'd be shocked if you didn't.

We, on the other hand, are in a very different boat. Cape had very few dots that could boost. So, we're not in position to change much, unless we spend a ton of EQ $, and that works against our long term goals. That's about as far from a complaint/whining as you can possibly get, and sure isn't an excuse either. It's just the route we've chosen to take, and it wasn't an accident. So, what you see right now with us is what you p much get. We're in for a couple of humbling ssns, but who couldn't use a little more humility in their lives?!

Thanks...I've got 3 more primary things I REALLY want to try to get pushed through:
Improved blking logic
Improved pathing to the ball on D
Improved QB targeting of WRers

I'm afraid that getting the juke WRs & pass rush a bump was relatively easy, by comparison. All I had to do was show that both were deficient enough to get Bort to bump them, and he very willingly did. The other 3 would/will take significant work on his part to improve. I think he's willing to do the work, and has actually been trying to improve all 3 areas, just that he hasn't found the golden key yet.

Thanks for the kind words PP. I followed your thread pushing for more pass rushing and was almost kinda shocked it even happened truthfully! But you did some good work, and I think it was long overdue in the sim. Good luck with your next three topics, all three desperately need refining.

Also, Capetown will be solid this year and could play spoiler to any team they face. I'm sure the longterm plans will work out and you guys will be a top team in GLB.

Oh yah...

Much better It's no fun being an ass if it's just ignored.

I p much agree with your assessment of Cape this ssn. Someone that could bite some of the better teams in the ass on our best day, but a team that should be a W for the better teams here. I've always enjoyed playing games when we "shouldn't win." Looks like I'll get more than my fill of that this ssn. I'll tell, ya, though. Swaziland is a team that ppl should be talking about (as several here have obviously already noticed). I think the race in The Elephant could be VERY interesting.

Wow....I can actually use this thread for once and be serious about it (comment on Cape, not the other teams we've played). GG, Forbin and RR. Wouldn't typically do this over a scrim, but I was just pumped to see us not completely suck for a change. I'm not too proud to admit that, thought I still tested a couple of things and didn't scout your PS games or anything, I actually did put some effort into this one. Since I'd imagine that you guys didn't, the score was most likely closer than it should have been. Hell, right now, I'll take a close game with a quality team and be happy, even if you didn't try...LOL

GG

The dots were competitive, and that's all you can ask for in PS.

I haven't changed the offensive playbook since you guys trounced us in the league championship last season. I've tweaked the AI to test certain aspects, but I haven't edited any packages. This was the only game where I let our rushing game go free. Other 3 games were mostly about the pass for us.

Hey, was just reading this thread and I'd like to point out that Chemistry has no affect in preseason games. That's at least what I read in a post form Bort. I didn't know if you guys knew that or not, but at least that's my impression.

The Dashchunds will be a very good Pro team. I don't know how good. We will just see, but our defense has been the #1 ranked defense for 4 seasons in a row in AA and AAA. We were expecting to be moved up a season or 2 before this, but had some unfortunate playoff losses in AAA. I think the OchoCinco Team can attest to our defense the season they mowed through everyone in AAA. They beat us 10-9 in our only meeting that season. Our builds are peaking this season and next with only a few players hitting decline this season. I just got to put up an offense that can match them.

I personally think your offense has been just fine the last few seasons!

I began running the offense since we moved up to AAA 3 seasons ago, and I've been trying to improve on it each season, but they're not as successful as our defense. That's my #1 pride and joy. We do have a secret weapon on offense this season, which could change things on offense. I'm not telling you who it is, but he's a dominating force that I intend to make full use of for the upcoming season!
