Like I said earlier, it takes into account the following variables:

Passing
Passing Defense
Rushing
Rushing Defense
Scoring
Scoring Defense
Record
Winning/Losing Streak

There is a slight premium in the formula for record, because when it comes down to it that is the most important stat

Also, as the season goes on the scores will stratify more. All of the 1-0 teams do not get the same amount of points. The team that scored the most in their win got the most points for record, and so forth. Next week when we have less teams with the same record it will spread out more. The rankings become more and more accurate as the season progresses I have found. It is kind of like the college football rankings, it is hard to tell for sure which teams are truly the best with such little data

Yup. The majority of teams wont hit stride to near midseason anyways.
