Well sure, but my guard isn't even that high (12) and I just signed with the team that had the best ownership and forum activity. Team levels didn't have anything to do with it, and apparently the same thing was appealing to a number of players with similar levels as myself. I figure there's a difference between bringing in a bunch of players with which you had a preexisting relationship and just assembling a group of guys that are tired of playing with apathetic teams. Eventually, things are going to get evened out anyways, but some of the teams with all level 4s or almost all low level CPUs are just going to punish the teams that worked harder on recruiting.

I don't want to start an argument, you seem like a nice guy and drama in the forums isn't fun for anyone; but, I just wanted to clarify that this is hardly some formulated plan to destroy the integrity of the league that we're in

Best of luck with your team, but our GMs have been working 10+ hours a day during the last week recruiting and it paid off.

anyone else find it really painful to get lvl 5 to 10 CBs? i finally just made two. But that aside i feel i put a good team together for the amount of time i had and the players i could find.

btw we did change the name. Watch out the Mongol Horde is coming to a game near you.

I busted my ass recruiting, and I think it shows on our team. I had no pre-existing relationships with people who had established players - brought in some of my buddies who were new to the game. The only veterans I brought in were two of my own, and prior to boosting, they were level 8 and 10. Every other player that's above a 7 on our team (and those 7's were all level 1's a week ago) was recruited via pinging free agents, raiding forums or pillaging the D leagues.

I feel I did a pretty good job of recruiting, tried various means to get people to sign up, and in a panic, even created a couple more players for positions I didn't think we'd get anyone at. I realize that there wasn't some mass conspiracy to undermine the integrity of a new AA league, but it does make you raise an eyebrow when your competition looks like they've been together for a full season already. I haven't seen anything ridiculous yet, but I can safely say there are a couple teams we're going to get blown out against.

I do agree with one of your points though - a team with almost all low level CPU players has make you wonder why the owner decided they wanted a team in the first place. I expected these teams to be full of lvl 7-10 humans, with some anomalies about. I think as a whole though, the established "median level" will be fair for this conference. If it 'punishes' some folks for being in the wrong league, well, it's not the end of the world.

That was my longest post ever. Mybad.

Seriously though at our team, we did a lot of wheeling and dealing. It wasn't just the GM's finding players on our team. It was a concentrated effort to help bring in talent and it paid off. Half the team was under level 8 until boosting and finding players to boost, was icing on the cake. The team that our GM's put together is legit and I have no quams about how they did it. They did a lot of work and I hope that other Gm's respect dedication and suceeding as much as they did for getting their players.

Yea recruiting was tough. I had myself and 2 GMs on it every spare second we could. I would say we got about 10% of the people we were going after. I was only planning on bringing a couple of my own guys over, but when it got down to it I started panicing and brought more then what I wanted. Most will be back ups, but still it was something I did not want to do. The best moves we made were a couple trades for some good O Linemen and a CB.

Anyway good luck this year everyone. 12 hours and counting!!!!!

I agree here, even though I don't have any of the higher level players on the Yeti's, the owner contacted me before team release abnd basically secured the services of a half dozen of my free agent players. He has always been up front, even when it came to pursuing better players that relgated most of my guys to back-up roles. ksuggs30 built that team with persistence through PM's and message board forums and he brought some smart and good people onboard. the yeti's came together through a fairly novel idea, a little elbow grease.

Amen to that last sentence. I found the right type of guys from the team. We brought in good players, but even better agents. If guys are willing to commit to play for me, when i don't have a team, and owners from Africa are pinging them left and right. Then i guess i did something right.

A little honesty and integrity goes along way with the right type of people.

Yeah, we took an ass-whooping. I can't feel too bad since you had a few ringers, but I honestly thought it would be closer. Regardless, we're hoping to see you again down the road.

I don't know what the implications will be of the "XP penalty" rule - we didn't get a soul over level 12 prior to the season boost to join our team - but I'm hoping it levels the playing grounds a bit.

All things aside, I'm looking forward to competitive season. Hope we see you guys in the playoffs.
