We will have any kinks worked our by then.

Good luck until then, nothing would be better for our budding rivalry then for both teams to be undefeated at that point. We have a hell of a test in game 2 though.

Too bad that won't happen.
One lousy point, 17-16. Back to the drawing board. I thought we could ride it out for a little while and not boost. I was mistaken.

Yeah, that's always a tough thing, though I wouldn't put it on boosting, esp. a 1-point loss...seems to me you could have been unlucky and/or out gameplanned.

We gameplanned well enough, and frankly, I don't think we were out-gameplanned. We had more offensive yards, had 15 pancakes to Bikini Atoll's 0. We had just 2 missed tackles, so we were fairly sure in that regard. There was one big 56-yard TD pass for BA, which was a back-breaker. Instead of kicking a 49-yard field goal on our opening drive (with my kicker who has a fairly powerful leg), we punt and promptly get a touchback. On our last meaningful drive of the game, we have a 4th-and-1 from BA's 9-yard-line with 3:30 to go, and we kick a 26-yard field goal. Yeah, that would definitely happen in real life.
I think we just got very unlucky. I tip my hat to BA, they did exactly what they had to do to win, but I frankly cannot imagine getting unluckier than we did today.

your K will be very good in a few levels, but you don't have the strength for a 50 yarder yet - 23.5 ain't kicking that far.

Remember that the game rounds to the 1, so that could have been 4th and 1.499999. With 3 timeouts and a good defense, I think you'd be surprised how many RL coaches would kick the FG and then yell to their defense to get a 3 and out and get the ball back. Then a FG wins it. You miss on 4th and 1, you need to get the ball back and need a TD to win.

So yes, you may have gotten a bit unlucky, but you have to tip your hat to BA - they played a hell of a game.
