Yeah, you guys are stacked- Here's a post from Bort, in case you missed it...

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=355508

I coulda moved higher level players down to our new league too, but felt it violated the spirit of GLB. I'm glad Bort is committed to leveling the playing field between those who exploited the loopholes and those of us who didn't...should be intresting.

I am not sure where this idea that because we are an expansion league we should just take level 1-7 players came from. I started building my team with some real life friends and people I met in game weeks ago. Long before I new what league I was going to fall in. Should I have scrapped my plans because the system arbitrarily throws you a team based on a sign up list? Hell no. I plan to be out of this league real soon and working towards the pros. I wish I would have gotten a AAA, or Pro league team, but BORT released Africa first and I was not high enough on the list. If people want to be angry that some teams have higher level players than they should be angry at the system that does not reshuffle teams based on level. The highest player we had on our team before game 1 was a 13. I am not going to apologize for it and I am not going to stop recruiting good players just because I was allowed to buy a AA team instead of a PRO. I want to have the best team possible and I want to be in a pro league. Doing that starts day one. If other people want to take lower level players out of some ridiculous notion of keeping things competitive for all players, let them and they can take their beatings too.

And on a side note my team has spent at least 40 man hours recruiting in the last few days.

It is a bit tricky when you have no idea what type of team you are going to get. This is true. Our team was formed in much the same fashion... old teammates and groups of friends planning to join a buddy's new team. No one had any idea which level league that they'd end up in.

On the other hand, some may perceive this disparity as unfair. That is fine. Bort has rules in place to punish excessive "team stacking." The rule is there as a penalty. Whining isn't going solve anything.

Good luck to all. You're going to need it.

I GM a team that was in a similar situation to czman's last season. All friends, and just grabbed the first team we could find. We had no intention of being dicks, but we had no control over where we were placed.

Personally, I think Bort's got that part of his system all screwed up.

And you don't kick the Cowboys out of the NFL just because the Raiders and Dolphins play there.

While our team is kind of young (many CPUs), I will agree with the above. Hope it doesn't come back to haunt me.

Our team is a group of friends also who wanted a second team so a few guys could have starters and we'd have a place to build players for our first team in a "higher" league. It's a farm team and we're starting some level ones and know we're going to take some lumps as we grow. Sure sucks getting your ass kicked, though. haha

Strutt, you guys could progress into a great team. In fact, last season the team I was on crushed a team their first game. By the end of the season, we missed the playloffs and the team we crushed...won the championship.

Believe in your team man, back your fellow players, and you will definitley prosper.
