You know, the XP is part of the TD play right now, so of course it's kicked.
But with FG replays coming, XPs should become their own play, too - which means this extremely minor issue will fix itself in a season or so.

yah, but I think the point is that there isn't a desire to perfect the game at all. ffs, it's s12 already and we haven't gotten the rule book in line yet. We still don't kick off from the 20 after a safety. I think that the code for ball placement after a missed FG are still messed up. Of course, it makes no difference if the XP goes in OT or not, but in almost 2 years, you'd think we'd have fixed it by now.

Don't forget games or halfs ending on a touchback.

Couldn't that happen in real life? Clock starts as soon as a player touches it right? If there was one second on teh clock at the point of kickoff, wouldn't that run off while someone catches it and kneels?

Nope...the clock starts when the receiving player touches it on kickoffs.

If it is caught in the field of play, most likely even with 1 second on the clock a quick kneel would eat up that time. But if it is a touchback, no time elapses, and the offense gets at least one play.

Are you assuming that the guy is catching it in teh endzone with his knee already on the ground?

Can't he just fair catch it or something?

Or let it bounce through the endzone?

When playing madden i always try to let it bounce through the endzone to save time, but you risk it staying live and giving up a touchdown >_>

Fair catch? Maybe, but people seem to usually catch it, then kneel, which takes more than a second.
