I'm gonna go out on a hunch and say he was being sarcastic when he said that? because what candyman said was just as far-fetched.

YA, I agree with sf, only person you could put on jerry rice's level is a... well not another WR.

Although I think of Rice as the G.O.A.T., I believe Randy Moss will move atop the list if he puts in another 7-8 years w/ Brady throwing him the ball! Moss is already @ 52% of Rice's passing yards and 62% of his TDs in 10 years. I am not sure Moss will put in 20 years like Jerry did, but he won't need the extra 2-3 years at his pace... Also, Jerry Rice is the consemate professional... I was not a fan of Moss's character flaws until he turned it around being on a marquis franchise known as the Patriot Dynasty.

But I'm a homer,with a biased view!

I will love following Chad Bryants #s this season....

Do you understand how many yards and tds rice has ? those records will never be broken . moss is no where as good as of a wr , moss is one dimensional with avg route running. He is simply a deep threat, Rice could do it all

Hey, don't get me wrong, Jerry Rice=G.O.A.T.....So far... And I was so PO'd @ San Fran not signing him for a summer roster spot so he could retire as a 49er. TOOLS!

But, the future holds more TIME for ALL to be OF the GREATEST.

Duh, if I knew the %'s of what Moss has... don't ya think I know Jerry's #s?
Moss has 1082 less recieving yards in the 1st 10 years...due to a 2 year tour @ the Faiders. Moss is only off pace by only only 7 TDs in the same 10, still due to he ghetto fieldtrip in Oakland. This kis is the most athleticly talented and gifted WR I have seen. He is healthy and motivated. He and Brady have something special going on... or did you miss last years 50 pass TD and 23 rec TD records? All in the 1st year together?!?!? They are close off the field too, and pissed thay lost last year.

Brady and him are arguably some of the best talent at their positions(just the same as Montana and Rice), EVER. At their pace they could break the records in 6 years... but I say 7 will be needed. .. ...
I remember watching the 49ers, 20+ years back and it was amazing, like watching history... and I was a Pats fan then and now....
all I am saying is, whether you like the Pats or hate 'em(much as SF had their haters in the 80's)... pay some mind, 'cuz you are NOW watching history.

jerry rice did retire as a 49er..........I missed Moss and brady running up the score on scurb teams padding their stats all season. I also missed them having nothing to show for last season , which will soon be forgotten. The 49ers went 18-1 in 84 , but we have something to show for it. Rice and montana did not run up the score like the pats did . I also missed moss showing up in big games, How many catches did he have in the playoffs again? O thats right.No. DOnt compare a team who dominated a decade and who is 5-0 in the superbowl to the patriots. And we are not watching history, The pats arent going to the superbowl next year and i dont expect them to be there for the next 5 years. Probably the oldest defense in the nfl. Wes welker will not be effective as a #2 Wr, and Randy moss can be shutdown..... There is no comparision between Montana and Brady , just liek their is no discussion between Rice and Moss and there will never be. And this is all i have to say look below

Do you understand how many yards and tds rice has ? those records will never be broken

Moss is only off pace by 7 TDs in the same 10, still due to he ghetto fieldtrip in Oakland. This kid is the most athleticly talented and gifted WR I have seen.

I missed Moss and brady running up the score on scurb teams padding their stats all season.

Yes, Rice IS the G.O.A.T.(love him!) for now and holds a shitload of records...(NO NEED TO LIST EVERY ONE LIKE: "Most TD's In A Game with QBs with the same Initials and playing below 75 degrees") lol

Don't kid yourself, I saw SF, personally, run up more scores than anyone... go look at the game logs 1986-1996 and see. You don't get stats like Jerry's unless you are ! It was what was great to watch... don't make me school you by posting the games I am refering to.
Rice had some great playoff games... and then some he was ghost on. Again go see the game logs. Moss never was on a playoff team like the Pats and w/ a QB like Brady before.

Brady has been a top 3 QB since the thankful day Mo Lewis took out Bledsoe. And, up until last year was throwing to scrub AFL quality WRs. Every WR Brady has made a star has fizzled to nothing without him(Branch, Patten, Givens, Johnson(Bethel), Dwight, Caldwell...). Montana himself has credited Brady as his successor... TB did more, with less, than any other QB by the age of 28... and is just now in the prime of his carrer. Stop the hate and realize that every coach, former QB and real expert thinks the opposite of you.

Yeh, Wes Welker is not a #2 BTW... and no team could stop him last year at #3. More of the same in 2008.
#2 will be Gaffney(who's done real well, and has TB to make him better) or our 2006 #2 draftee Chad Jackson, who was injured in a STs play year one and is just coming back.(he's the guy who ran a 4.28 40 and caught 28 of 30 balls in the pass drill(Santonio Holmes caught 18) at the WR combine). NE are set at WR.

If you have not paid enough attention, the Pats D is re-tooled from the Draft and FA pick ups. The depth now is sick. Who better to learn from than Harrison, Bruschi, Seau and Seymour? Mayo, our 1st pick is a stud and a Rhodes Scohlar at that! Alex Smith will know his name on 10/5/2008...

New England is the 80's 49ers of 2000's:
Most Consecutive Games Won 21 2003-2004
Most Consecutive Games Won in Season 18 Includes playoffs 2007
Most Consecutive Games Won in regular Season 16 2007
Best all-time games winning percentage in regular-season and playoff games in decade .745-since 2001
Yeah, NE sucks!

Does not bother me anymore at all the lost to the Giants... was a great SB and they played their hearts out. Kudos to NYG. You are more ignorant than suspected if you don't see the Pats are positioned to win 2-3 SBs in the next 5 years.... and break some of your 49ers' records

i have just lost all respect for you with that last sentence. You will not win again in the nexy 5 years, ANd back to jerry. 49ers did not run up the score like the pats did last year. going for it on 4th and 3 up by more than 3 tds and shit .NE is not the 49ers of the 2000s .and the 49ers didnt dominate for one decade, we dominated for close too two, We went 16 years straight with more than 10 win seasons. the patriots have only went 5 straight . The pats r in the bottom half on the league in win pct. with just under 20 more wins than losses. .NE has never contstructed a team as deep as the 89 49 team, You dont have 4 rings in a decade. And all of your rings are becoming to be viewed tainted by every one. so i dont credit new england with any of those rings. Jerod mayo is not a stud, going to be another below avg lb from tennessee . moss is not a great as u r making him to be. You couldnt win the superbowl with the team you had last year , how do you expect to do it with a lesser team? Patriots will never dominate for as long as the 49ers did. Montana and brady debate was over once he lost the superbowl. Jerry earned his stats , yards after the catch. most of his catches were between 5-12 yards on slants and quick routes. so lets stop with the comparisions...

you say tamato, I say tamato... I am positive they will win at least 2 SBs... soon.

They did too run up the scores, I saw it myself... maybe you are too young. Go look yourself... 48-0, 42-3 ect...:
http://www.nfl.com/players/jerryrice/careerstats?id=RIC128880

And of coarse we never had the depth of the 80's 49ers... There was no salary cap, pretty easy to build a team w/ $$$. That's why GLB had to create chemistry, to make things fair, remember? Also in the 90's, SF were the only ones not abiding to the SALARY CAP!!!! Don't start with any "tainted" crap...

All of your points forget that there is still 2 more years left in this decade... We will get 4 or more!

And how is NE "lesser" than last? Asante Samuel will be filled in easily by Fernando Bryant. Vegas has some interesting perspectives on the Pats SB chances to come... but you are more qualified than them. I actually agree one one w/ you, Mayo is too early to tell a bust or boom, but word out of camp is promising.

No one except ignorant jealous fools thinks the Pat's SBs are tainted. They won't take away the rings for a stupid camera placement violation. IT IS LEGAL TO STEAL SIGNALS in the NFL, as long as you don't use them "during the game". Every fan of other teams hold animosity towards a dynasty, a SF fan like yourself, should know that better than most.

Come back when the 49ers are relavant again.

... and I am hurt you have no respect for me now.

Yeah, with Alex Smith and Shaun Hill at the QB spot I doubt we'll see SF anywhere near the top of the league let alone the NFC West anytime soon.

You are proving more and more you dont know about football , fernando bryant filling in for asante samuel ? not even close.4 more super bowl? no not getting another one any time soon.WHat am i to be jealous of we have more rings. The pats admitted to using them during the game, they knew what plays to call because they knew what was coming , they have been doing this since belicheck was coach. and i dont care what vegas has , when have they been right about picking a superbowl winner prior to the season????And dont use salary cap. The 49ers werent the only team salary cap free , every one was. And our best players were aquired thru the draft. the pats will never amount to what the 49ers have accomplished

Come back when you have 5 and have never lost in a super bowl and dominate for 16 seasons straight....THIS DEBATE IS OVER

You are sooooo clueless... Asante is a 1 year wonder... watch in Philly.

Tha Pats admitted what?!?!?! again clueless.

I was talking about salary cap CHEATING... nice dodge of the facts.

I am not saying we are the '80s 49ers yet... but getting there. The debate is in denial... for you.

you say tamato, I say tamato... I am positive they will win at least 2 SBs... soon.

They did too run up the scores, I saw it myself... maybe you are too young. Go look yourself... 48-0, 42-3 ect...:

Asante is not a one year wonder , idiotic statement. And what would you call fernando bryant? I would call him an 10 year cb who has only intercepted 7 balls in his career . I would call asante a 6 year cb who has intercepted 22 balls. Fernando is a scrub
The patriots admitted to cheating, and they werent punished heavily enough
49ers didnt cheat in the 80s. I dont call under the table deals cheating because every team of that era did it , so the nfl created the salary cap . The salary cap is going to be gone again in the next few years....

FOr the last time , these current pats arent evern close , they have already failed. TO do what the 80s 49ers did , you must go 4-0 in the decade. Your chances of doing that are done. And you missed your chance of winning 4 last year. The pats will not win again in this decade
