There are certain things about that AI that should of been destroyed.. Marblehead just didn't run those plays in that game.

A lot of teams run the same shit as they did before the DPC came out, just with the dots moved around a little anyway.

the biggest thing the DPC did was allow you to assign coverage assignments - the default assignments could be exploited pre-DPC and limited the flexibility of the defense.

I've used non-DPC plays from time to time since the DPC came out though. I liked what happened on some of those plays better than when I moved the dots around myself. I had already considered doing something to see if the default positions generate a better pass rush as well on blitzes. Might actually do it now.

Zone is mostly helpless without the DPC.

it isn't as good, but I was using a non-DPC zone the last couple of seasons that actually accounted for a high percentage of our ints. Not that we were getting a lot of ints, but that play seemed to have a knack for picks.

Oh, ya, definitely, had fun with it on the Slashers back in the day.

However, the gigantic propensity for flat zones all the time got to be just irritating. Couple that with SI Slam mania and ya

I used quite a bit of zone back in S6-7

I actually liked the flat zones back then...since CB's are always put into a flat zone, non-DPC zones are terrible now, it basically takes two CB's out of coverage.

But yeah, zones used to be the only real way to stop the Cross Up that was popular.
