once run blocking gets updated it'll be better.pass blocking looks just looks weird to me..maybe cuz its different

What's wrong with run blocking?

Think we threw the kitchen sink in that scrim... and everything else. Laundry list of passing plays.


Pressure almost looks right now. Blitzing can work, or can be terrible. Hard as shit to get a sack, though, unless it's a just a really bad overmatch somewhere.

Blockers need some kind of position logic

i.e.
if 3-4 then LG and C take NT, if NT is blocked, then G moves on to X, logical progression with looking for blitzes based on vision and whether or not the guy right in front of them, and initially asssigned to them is blocked.

Needs to happen at the sim level, not the AI level

I totally agree, progressions need to happen. So far though, I'm really liking what Bort did to the sim. Seems like OL need more Vision to make the correct reads on overloads which is a HUGE step in the game right now. I think run blocking needs some tweaks here and there, but overall I'm pretty happy so far. I'm still waiting until ILB stunts/crosses show up though, so that pressure up the middle will be effective against the passing game. Still seems like ILB/MLB blitzes don't do much of anything.

I think that blocking assignments need to be fixed, but defensive line should be more successful in collapsing the pocket and opening holes for linebackers to get through the middle.

That is an understatement. Blocking at times is too powerful, at times is just pathetic. Whoever finds the first set of exploit set of blitzes will dominate on defense.

This definitely isn't realistic looking. Not only is the blocking still awful but zone defenses seem even worse than last season. If we're just talking about the sim looking good and worth playing, the way all out BH+ZS orchestrated defenses work is pitiful. It's not just that QBs make terrible reads when playing against them, but the way they are handled by the coding is miserable. Bort was too lazy this offseason to fix it so he thought by semi-nerfing ZS to not stack he fixed it but it seems like it's just as unrealistic. The question is will he ever fix some of these things? Probably not.

What do you know, again, VAs are most of the problem
