Well....if you don't say tail like the rest of the english speaking world and say it Tell (spelled T-A-I-L), then it does.

some people just can't speak proper english, thus many things rhyme....like Fail and Spell.

Pronounce Fail...not like Fay-l....but like feh-l, then spell rhymes...not correct pronunciation, but it does rhyme.

I admit that sometimes I'm not so smart. So I used my Google-Fu.

http://www.homophone.com/

TELL is a homophone of TEL.

TAIL is a homophone of TALE and TAEL.

So again...who ever told you that TELL and TAIL are homophones?

Thank goodness the offseason is almost over.

Word 1:TAIL ---> Letter A makes a long a sound. examples: save, safe, base, cake.

Word 2:TALE ---> Letter A makes a long a sound. examples: save, safe, base, cake.

Word 3:TELL ---> Letter E makes a short e sound. examples: elf, spell, cell, fell.

Word 1 rhymes with word 2. TAIL = TALE (homophone - words that sound alike, but have different meanings)

Word 1 does not rhyme with word 3. TAIL (not =) TELL

Word 2 does not rhyme with word 3. TALE (not =) TELL

If you come from the sticks, you might (pronounced mat) have learned to speak english incorrectly (that means wrong). But it's o.k., we understand you can't do it right, just don't pretend that you know proper english pronunciation(that means how to say the word right).
