Recap:
Lion
The game of the day was The Nile Denial vs. CollegeTown USA. What a battle these two teams had, but in the end TND was just too tough. In close games like this, usually whoever wins the turnover battle wins the game, and this one was no different. The Headhunters beat the Buffalo by 25, and that defense is starting to look pretty damn tough. I don't know what they changed, but I'm glad that we played them before they did. The War Elephants beat Zulu 34-24, and clawed their way back into the top 8. Zulu dropped down to 10 (via loltiebreakers), but I expect them to be where they need to be come playoff time. All of the other games were called blowouts.
Playoff overview: It seems that this conference is 10 teams deep. Its a shame that only 8 of those teams will make the playoffs, but that's the way it goes. I honestly think that 8 of those 10 teams have a great shot at a top 4 seed. This conference is really deep and fun this season.
Elephant
Blood Diamond absolutely destroyed Blood Bowl, and although I expected a decisive win, that was above and beyond. They are definitely a top 4 team, no question. Rhodesia Ratels had an outstanding defensive showing against the Sabercats, and are going to be tough for anyone to beat. Choctaw squeaked out a win against the Teikoku Alexanders. I thought this would be a good game. Choctaw is a good team, but I still don't know if they have enough gas to be in the top 4 in season end. Only time will tell. TA on the other hand, has some work to do if they want to climb back into the playoff hunt. Swaziland Semnikati got a 7 point win over RSJ. I still don't know what to think of this team...... All other games were expected blowouts.
Playoff overview: In Elephant, I think we have 3 clear cut top teams. MNR, BDM, and RR. Is Choctaw at the same level? I'm not sure yet. It also seems that the top 8 are already starting to form, with one possible exception. From here on out, its going to be pretty much playing for positioning.
