The number 6 team as well as a couple other teams played the Crush a hell of a lot tighter than the Pain did. So, right there, your logic is out the window. Sure, your 2,3,4 teams had better records, but against weaker competition. We'll see who is the strongest next season.

I won't argue that we lost by a wider margin than some of the other Crush games - but there are a number of variables one would have to consider - particularly our game plan. I made a tactical error in thinking that we could pressure the Crush QB. So we committed to a lot of blitzing. When you blitz LBs and don't get to the QB, you have trouble stopping the pass, which we had.

I don't want to take anything away from the Crush. I don't think that a better game plan would have resulted in us winning. But it certainly had an impact.

There isn't any other team in the West that we would worry about playing (certainly there are other teams in the West that could beat us - but we certainly wouldn't deviate from our normal game plan when we played them). We (rightly or wrongly) felt that we had to change it up against the Crush to account for their insane depth and the fact that they outleveled us by almost 2 levels per player.

All that said, the bragging rights belong to the West this year. Enjoy them.

Yeah, we tried to get pressure on them too. I have DLinemen that are level 16-17, and same with LB's. I think we may have gotten a hurry or two but that was about it. Our biggest thing was that we forced 3 TO's on them, and still lost by 10. Nonetheless, Pain, you had a great season, and hopefully you continue to do well in AA!

Yeah, I agree there. Granted it was only scrimmage, but we just assraped the Brew Crew! Like I said, we'll see ya next season! GL

Ouch. We played with our tactics because we were just blowing away those west teams.

We had 5 losses on the season, all to teams ahead of us. Two of those losses came w/ less than 2 minutes left in the game. We actually did the same thing. We have been trying to see what we could change up for next season, as well as seeing what our backups could do the past couple of games.

East rules!

And most of those lost today to the superior west.

4 actually -- I threw 2 picks and you also scooped up 2 fumbles.

Wow. I agree. Unless they upgrade quick they shouldn't be selling their house in BBB.

Yeah, they may be going right back down to BBB! Hope they're prepared for it. Should be a nice warm up game for the rest of us though! LOL

as a member of the gobblers, i realize that we are probably going to struggle in this league next season, but i wouldn't say the same for the hokies until I see if the huskers find out where those black shirts for the defense were buried!

It's definitely not the same team I watched dominate my beloved hokies in the 1996 Orange Bowl. Anyway should be a great game.

LOL! I've got one word for you, bro. "BO". Coming into the 2003 season, NU's D was in the same boat, and if memory serves me correct, they were a top 25 D by season's end. I'm not saying that's going to happen, but the D can't get any worse, and our offense is solid.

You going to the game? I may cruise down to a bar in Lincoln for it. I have seen on Rivals several VaTech faithful coming to Lincoln for the game. If you haven't been to Memorial Stadium on gameday, it's f'n nuts! Ask Brent Musburger. If I remember correctly, he either got a DUI or open container charge. LOL

LOL! I hope he doesn't call that game. I wish I could make it down, but my wife will be 8 months pregnant come December so I just literally screwed myself from going to Lincoln.
