Bump . . .

So, theoretically, why would Line General NOT be tied to vision (i.e., overall game knowledge)? To me, that would make much more sense than confidence. Thoughts?

it's my theory that confidence helps any play reduce the variance in any skill roll they have. So, it would help them hold blocks, push back defenders, not get swum, stunned or beat, help them pancake, etc.

Nice theory, if this is true, very yummy. Do you believe it also reduces positive variance, or only low variance?

I think it raises the low variance, does nothing for/to the top end.

Very interesting. Whether it holds up or not ... great theory.

I disagree. Motivational Speaker doesn't provide as much of a boost as the various General skills do, and MS does nothing for Energy, just Morale. All four General skills boost Energy as well as Morale. With a C built as a Line General, it's possible to field only a single offensive line unit and still have them relatively fresh at the end of the game. With a half-decent backup package, you can have your top O-line always ready to play the important downs. Without General skills, your O-Line is going to need to invest in a lot more Confidence and Stamina.

Winner Winner chicken dinner....

The same is true for the NT and the MLB IMHO

But thats all pointless if you have good depth like stated in the beginning of my post.
So instead of heavily investing in confidence and stamina (which have other side benefits), you'd rather heavily invest in this SA, and the corresponding VA?

Depth makes energy problems go away if you are smart enough to set up a good advanced energy rotation, and morale does nothing and is recouped with MS.

The QB and LB ones are a different story...LB/WR/HB eat through energy faster and morale means a lot more to them.

I would rather have depth at positions that need depth. As I said, you can use a single O-Line unit through the whole game with no problems if you invest properly. And by "with no problems", I mean performance-wise, too. My Center has 50 stamina, 60 confidence, 16 line general, and 15 natural leader. He can easily play an entire game with no drop in performance, and with the amount of LG he has, he lets the other O-Linemen do so as well. Yes, you COULD waste slots on backup O-Line, but unless your "backups" are exactly as good as your primaries, there will ALWAYS be a loss in performance when going to backups. I'd rather just have the starters in there all the time.
