same here. Besides the fact our defensive guys were not on the field much at all. Thats why I will refrain from nominating anyone as to do so will most likely only start a flamefest. Besides the fact it means nothing other than its my opinion. I know its fun to speculate but the fact is the only awards given out are by GLB.

I'd just like to mention that several of Fortaleza's players are equally as good, if not better than several of these guys on the list, but don't sit atop the leaderboard simply because we pull our starters in blowouts and because we generally ran the ball against the lesser teams, thus less snaps.

Take CB Gaylord Dayse who is pretty much on everyone's list, vs. our corner Johnny Island

Dayse's stat line looks better to the naked eye on the leaderboard, but break it down per play:

Dayse: 1138 plays. 1 tackle every 11.6 plays. 1 INT every 113.8 plays. 1 pass defensed every 22.8 plays

Island: 595 plays. 1 tackle every 9.9 plays. 1 INT every 99.2 plays. 1 pass defensed every 21.8 plays.

Island's stats are superior in every way, on a per-play basis, than Dayse. Dayse's just getting his stats padded with far more plays. And even more importantly, Island comes out when we're blowing the bad teams out, meaning he's not running his stats up late in the game against the bottom tier teams.

Not that I expect any of the Longhorns to win because we don't pad our stats, but I feel that the point should at least be made. I'm sure we have several players that are better per play than these guys being voted on.

so what..... my player has 12 touchdowns and almost as many recieving yards as the top but my stats didnt get updated. most people arent gonna spend 10 hours a day picking apart every position of every team. you have to hope your close enough to the top of the list to be picked as an MVP and Stats look good to people watching =)

I mean, I'll put my nominations in, and I'll probably make the same mistake of just looking at the stats without digging too deep. Who has time to really analyze players that in-depth when half of the owners are in the middle of game planning for the playoffs?

But, I feel it's at least worth mentioning. Plus, I have to stick up for my guys a little bit . We didn't go 13-3 and beat several top teams with a bunch of scrubs. That won't be reflected in the "best of team" or whatever this is called. But that's no biggie. We're not out for the glory... we're here to win titles .

Since Mark apparently now owns Fortaleza , I'll just go ahead and go with his for our submission. I'd rather spend my time game planning tomorrow than researching players.

aslong as it's one per team, you can look at it as advanced scouting too.

LOL .. he was kidding. I just own his Franchise QB... and he would never want him to go Pennington or Brooks on him

I was hoping so, but you never know so Mark has more than backed up my squirrel nuts. So I figured I would be able to return the favor.
