Yep, I sure do...but again, thanks for teaching me. Sure, I rambled on quite a bit and mixed two thoughts together...3 actually...maybe even a fourth. Here, I will list random thoughts in no particular order.

1.) McMichael has been a good guy in all of this and I in no way want to imply otherwise. I was speaking in general.
2.) Even the kindly, condescending tone gets old. We're not "noobs"...think of the promoted teams that way at your own peril. Some even have kids that have teams in leagues higher than this.
3.) I even quoted another owner/GM who said we "noobs" had to earn our respect in here. How ridiculous. Keep thinking that...these guys are good, sneaky and knowledgeable and that kind of thinking is gonna get you beaten.
4.) The spreadsheet is flawed due to lack of data. But the complaint that was addressed was from a "noob" (sorry floridafly, I don't see us that way, I'm just making a point).
5.) Black Sea is, and will be, until we begin to beat them with any regularity, the class of the ones who got promoted. Siberia is decent...right in the same neighborhood as us, but not top 7 material unless they have made great strides (I will look into that).
6.) Foolish pride is one thing that could have some of the "noobs" do very well.
7.) Even with the lack of data, I have us around 14-18 so we're about right where we belong. What I was saying was as much of a warning as anything else.

I wasnt trying to be condescending to anyone, just trying to explain how I think it works to the best of my ability. I cant see anyones face to gauge whether or not they understand what I am talking about. I know some folks come on here and have no background on how a spreadsheet works. They may have jobs like an air traffic controller, mechanic, deep sea welder, or any of a number of other jobs that I wouldnt have the faintest idea how things work. I try my best to convey my meaning in a manner that anyone can understand. If it sounds condescending it wasnt intended that way. I am not taking offense to what you said, just explaining why I write things the way I do.

On the point of taking teams lightly, I scout every team we face the same way. Whether it be the Knights, the Balilalilailalaaikakas , or the Home for Underprivileged Children. I will go in looking for tendencies that my team can exploit. There are only a couple of teams I expect to win without extensive game planning. I just joined this league this season so as far as noobs go I am one to this league.

One thing I did point out in an earlier posting in this thread is that I didnt think the script or spreadsheets would be overly accurate until around week 10 or so.

You would be hard pressed to find a post of mine where I slammed another poster (thats just not my style). The closest thing to it would be a joking post or thread like in my teams forums but I dont slam posters unless I have a good feeling that they know I am kidding.

I always want to see everyone post there opinion (other than trolls who just like to irritate people) but please consider that in written format the way you perceive something to be written may not be the way it was intended. I am not trying to belittle anyone by posting these ranking, just like to see discussions and friendly bickering spring up from them.

I would consider these ranking much like college preseason or early season Polls, they dont really mean much, they are just there to get the fans riled up.

McMichael, thats what I was afraid would happen...none of what I said was directed primarily at you...you have been gracious - I was just using something you said as an example. If you took it as me calling you out or anything of that nature, let me say right now - I am sorry. You've been one of the best..."hosts" if you will, to the new guys. I was talking ancient history, which in GLB terms means last week.
I thought it would be poor of me to take issue with the spreadsheet without putting mine out there so I will...there is nothing to back any of this up, just the way I see things right now and remember, I am not trying to disrespect anybody. In some cases, it came down to nothing more than match-up bars:

1.) Hartford Knights 5-0-0 W5
1.) Zheleznovodsk Chubby Wizards 5-0-0 W5
1.) Elancourt Templiers 4-1-0 L1

Yikes...I appreciate you putting the Knights on top....BUT I have a couple points of contention. First, we have NEVER beaten the Wizards....both teams started slow building the same season, and they always wipe the floor with us (no matter if it was preseason or not). Next, even with 1 loss each, I believe Moscow and Elancourt, right now, are better teams then the Knights. Finally, Black Sea has me sweating.....even with them giving up levels they are doing a hell of a job...and are the champs from last season, who were 4 points away from having and undefeated season, have to respect that.....

Thanks, and I see why people would put a 2-3 team ahead of a 5-0 team because they had some tough losses, but at the end of the day, they are still 2-3. If you really think they should be up there, then wait a couple of weeks until they begin winning again and putting them up there. Again, I know this is a script and I appreciate people doing it to give some life into the forums. All I am saying is the script shouldn't be so heavy on strength of losses that a 2-3 team is ahead of a 5-0 team.

All very valid points...my blind spot is the history of THIS league...although I am trying to catch up on that fast. Also, that's why there are so many ties...you could make legitimate points for ALL of the teams with an 8 or 12 winning over each other. As far as Hartford and the Chubby Wizards - to me it was a toss-up in the dark with my eyes closed.

Updated with game 6 results. The undefeated teams seem to be moving up now. Things should start to appear more like we expect after 3 or 4 more games.

first of all, nice to see the forum waking up with some debate

i haven t had the time to really look at all the rankings, so i ll just comment on where my team is and who we ve played

i find it funny that Moscow is ranked higher, since we beat them by 30+ and that was with 85% of the team as level 24's and 23's (and most didn t have level 24 equip, not that you could have known that). i don t know if they were fully boosted at the time, but either way, i think their ranking is too high, IMO

the Beasts are a little high as well. again, we had a large margin of victory and they just lost to the Archangels. i m not trying to be confrontational, they seem like a good team. they re just ranked higher than i think they should.

The ranking from the script I use will be updated on the front page. Both Moscow and the Beasts (unless I am looking at the wrong teams) are tied at 14 which would put them fairly close to middle of the pack. I am not sure whether they are better or worse than that and as I have said, these rankings are little better than using darts to pick winners early in the season.

Just wanted to be sure it was clear I was updating the rankings in the first post.

Looking at my rankings, I think they held up fairly well. There were several quality points made about them and several (two, I think) games that would cause changes in the rankings a la the AP or Coaches Poll.

I would bow to PAChargers modesty and move them down to the bottom tied for 1st slot...I would move Kaunas up a few and the Beasts down a few, leaving them just behind Kaunas due to their game...and I would look at moving the Reverends up and the Racoons down in the same fashion. I also agree with Kylos Landry's post entirely and I feel foolish making that big of an oversight at such high a level in my rankings. They are far from perfect, but at least they didn't make me look too stupid. Should I bother to update these and keep a running "poll" or just let it die? I think it might be interesting to see how mine and McMichael's begin to morph into each other by season's end...again, kinda like the AP and Coaches Polls...just...no BCS crap - we have a playoff system.
